I've seen salt all over the interwebs about the female fighters of Super Smash Bros. Things include their inabilities to be properly mained, over sexualization (mainly with Zero Suit Samus and Now Bayonetta), people who play as them being labeled as 'noobs', and even having people go as far as saying that some female characters should be cut from the roster entirely (manly Bayonetta even though her DLC Pack isn't set to release until February).

So in all honesty, what do YOU think of the female fighters? Are they a definate bonus to the ever-changing game or are they just a bother? Should they be banned entirely from the game?

Theres nothing wrong with female fighters being in the roster. Just because they are female doesnt necessarily mean they dont deserve to be in the game. Some people just use it as an argument to justify how their favorite character didnt get into the game, and in fact almost every character that was introduced in ssb4 got the same amount of salt from those who wanted their favorite character in the game.

I don't see the problem about female fighters. And if people are going to use the term, "overly sexualized" they need to do it right. Like honestly, people are lashing out on developers on commenting on their "features" while many woman dress like Bayonetta, and have that breast size. And how are people to be called noobs that play female characters. @RobertDan is one of the best smashers on this site, and he uses mostly female characters

Why would female characters be cut from the roster? It just wouldn't make sense to see that there are no female characters -_-
Over-sexualization??? It'd be nothing compared to other games and it probably never meant to be that way. I kinda like Bayonetta despite wanting other characters.

ZSS and Bayonetta are only two characters; they're not enough to strike controversy and an argument such as this. Also considered the fact that this is the last DLC.

May I also add the fact that most of the top characters are female?

The only female characters I deem to he "overly sexual" is uh I really don't see any. If you are talking about their breasts then you kinda need to know human anatomy sir. But if you say that most female chars are sexual then you better watch out cuz WiiFitTrainer might come over and beat you.
(Also @Genos I wouldn't say best, just not a newb. )

I personally don't mind with several female fighters, because this helps to balance the roster given that there are more male fighters. Besides, I like the moment when Peach and Zelda were added in the Melee because sometimes I felt something is missing if only Mario Bros. and Link joined in the fray. Thanks to female fighters inclusion, Lucina, one of my mains in Smash 4, got in as well.

Sheik is a girl and I don't see any Sheik main poorly played in most matches. I think there should be as many female characters as you want (granted they are in a video game like that girl from Tomb Raider). In my opinion though I don't see any female character differently from a male character and that's just a matter of perspective if you think differently.

I'd say thusfar, everyone has a pretty good chance of being champion when put in the right hands. (Although there are some pretty frightening Kirby fighters out there...) For gameplay's sake, it makes no difference what gender the character is. For gameplay's sake, gender should affect nothing.

As for those opinions of over-sexuality, "No mind is as dirty as the censor's." It's not the industry that over-sexifies someone, it's those wacky fanatics putting a dirty spin on everything. We should be getting our enemies straight.

Lastly, my opinion for the inclusion of females in any given game, I would think for diversity's sake both in design and sometimes storyline, that it's kinda important. After all, we're talking about %50 of the human race here. No good reason not
to include players on both sides, at least not without sounding wildly sexist.

Why should female characters be banned? Because some people get a funny feeling seeing them? Each character, male or female, is not limited by gender, but rather by the skill of the user. And most of the salt I've seen over Bayonetta is because people didn't get to see their character put in the game. These are the kind of people who even Nintendo should ignore, just like SJWs and radical feminists.

"Feminist" is a person who fights for equal rights of both genders. People who misuse the word never earn my attention.
"Radical Feminist" is more like a woman's only club who misused the word as I previously described.

My very simple opinion is that if they have a place in Smash (i.e. not a obscure character from some random japanese game that happens to have 20 fans), then more power to them.

Regarding the fighters already in the game, I don't have a problem with them either.
