Exactly."I would want to be able to customise my character"
no only people in paris change their clothes its the same in real life
Why is changing clothes exclusive to a region come on Nintendo.
While I don't know about the 'being a Pokémon' part I would love to be able to do more than just be a trainer. But rather than having it all decided by a personality test, why not let in-game decisions shape your path? I'd also much rather start my own team and gather around some NPCs to join my cause than become part of boring Team Rocket. Gym Leader/Elite Four should be extensiosn of the trainer path, and in a same way breeder and collector could be bundled.I think one where you could chose to be human or Pokémon would be fun. As a human you go through the regular game but having it more open where you can customize your character, choose you're transportation, age, and etc (so if you hate the idea of being a kid you can be older). And with the human you're not just stuck being a trainer. The beginning upon choosing human you take a personality quiz that tells you the path your character will take. Like a Breeder, Coordinator, Gym Leader (this would send you to an online battle, with a set of rules you choose), Trainer, Master, Elite Four, and even Team Rocket. Of course there will be obstacles that will arise and try and detour you off the path.
As a Pokémon you can customize yourself by picking your Pokémon, adjusting your height, weight, color (color as in shiny or normal), Pokérus (though you won't be able to shiny it'll be one or the other), stats, and scars/markings. However Legendary and Mythical won't be an option until you meet them. This style of game play you'll be a wild Pokémon and you'll be given the option to explore on your own or be with your pack. But you challenge the humans to battles.
You can get caught but in the Pokéball you can try to escape (or not). But if caught you'll be with your trainer who will be a intelligent NPC and will react to how you listen to commands. (Did I mention they'll release you based off how you play?)
I think a Pokémon game like that would be fun!
