Okay so what is anOtaku, in Japanese it means someone with an unhealthy obsession. So how are we using it? And what is a weeboo? Are they duragatory terms? I like anime and have watched quite a few but I don't really want to buy the murch or manga ,ig manga is cool I just haven't read any to expensive. I really like the music.

Is that enough to make someone an otaku or weeboo? And what is the difference. If someone can help me that would be awsome

Otaku is the honorific word of Taku (home).

Otaku is extremely negative in meaning and basically implies you never leave your house because you have no social life.

A weeaboo is a non Japanese person who basically denounces their own culture and considers themselves Japanese even though they know very little about Japan outside the realm of anime/manga and other various aspects of pop culture.

Though keep in mind, a non Japanese person can like the culture, watch anime, read manga, speak the language and respect the culture while keeping in touch with their own, which keeps them from being a weeaboo.

Ahhh. Thanks. So I am neither of those. Yeah I watch a lot of anime but I train/compete triathlons, surfbodysurf and play punk rock. Hang out with people all the time watch action movies and play shooters as well as RPGs. So I'm just a normal person not an otaku or weeboo?
