Just a bit of fun, what do you think Nintendo's next console would be called?

The Nintendo DSP (Dual Sceen Phone)
A handheld console the works like if that Samsung folding phone and the 3ds had a baby. It's more of a gaming console, so you can't call and all that, but it's backwards compatible with DS and 3DS and can also play Nintendo's moblie games like Mario Run. There's also exclusive titles like a third game to the Tomodachi Life Series. Finally, there's only one subscription option just like the Switch, which is Hulu.

It's obviously never gonna happen. I made this for fun.

It does sound like a good idea, but of course it would cost, like, £1299 or something just to make it something like a foldable phone, so it would probably be a flop.

Nintendo DSP (in co-operation with Samsung)
Only £1299
Plays 3DS and DS games, plus smartphone games!

Nintendo DSP Lite
Only £999

The same as the normal DSP, except smaller and lighter!

Nintendo DSP+
Only £1599

70% bigger screens than the normal DSP!

(Hardcore Nintendo fans only)

Coming 2021

Something like this would be the DSP family.

The 3DSi. Basically a 3DS with a better version of Flipnote and the camera features/filters from the DSi. It also supports remakes of Gamecube titles like Melee, Sunshine, Paper Mario TTYD, and all the games from the Virtual Boy now with color added. Not good enough? Well I guess you should get the N64+ which is basically the same as a PlayStation classic but with Nintendo games and a never before seen completed EB64.

The next Nintendo console is going to be called the Nintendo Switch Lite.

The next Nintendo console after that will probably be called the Nintendo Switch Pro.
Or maybe the Nintendo Switch XL?
Nintendo Switch Plus?

(I actually just remembered I made this thread)

Nintendo released an updated version of the switch secretly without any prior announcement. Apparently, the newer one has better battery life. They also redesigned the look of the box and they changed the first three letters of the serial number to "XKW". The older switches had "XAW" as the first three letters on the serial number.

I'd say they're more likely to just and more consoles to the Nintendo Switch family with possible names like your examples: the Nintendo Switch XL or the Nintendo Switch Plus. But we can only speculate.

That's just a revision akin to the DSi and n3DS.

At this point, I think Nintendo knows their market are handheld consoles (as we can see with the Nintendo Switch lite).
The next model is obviously a revision, maybe in two years since there were two revisions this year (base model and lite).

I would love if they will call it Switch Advance, as a throwback (after all, the JoyCon colors variations feels like they did with the Game Boy Color)

The Next Nintendo console will be called Switch 64. It'll combine Nintendo's modern conceptualization of the switch with the old Nintendo 64 console. With it's advanced technologies, you'll be able to play with 64 people online with any game and up to 64 friends (I don't know anyone with that many friends but I'm making it up okay).

The next nintendo console would be called the Nintendo Switch Pro! It would cut down the portable aspect of the switch in exchange for much better graphics and a better docked mode experience in general. They would also fix the drift and add support for retro controllers :p

If it's going to be a family member of the Switch, I'm pretty confident about Nintendo Switch Pro.

If it's a totally new console, I like the following names:
  • Nintendo X (they probably wouldn't do this because it reminds me of Xbox)
  • Nintendo VR (if they do a fully blown virtual reality system)
  • Nintendo 4K Plus (Nintendo console but... 4K res)

they're kinda lame ngl. Nintendo doesn't always name their console after the gimmick, but they have been with the DS family and the Switch so thats possible
