What would you do if you saw a man stealing fruit from your tree?

The tree is in your yard..
Some random guy jumped over your fence (if you have one) and climbed your tree.
Alternatively, 'jumping to pick' if the tree isn't that tall.
The guy is stealing all of the good fruit from the tree...

What would you do in this type of situation?

I’d say, “Oi! Put my fruit back or you’ll be sorry!” If he refused, I’m not really sure what I’d do. I wouldn’t want to physically harm him over fruit, so if threatening him didn’t work, I would probably just let it go. If he obeyed, then problem solved! By the way, what kind of fruit is he stealing from the tree?

Walk up to him, Politely ask to stop stealing the fruit that he has no rights over. If he doesn't comply, I'd call for backup (Family first, then police if it gets nasty). They should grow their own fruit if they want it so badly, It's not even that hard to do. I wouldn't pull any punches though, Because violence isn't the answer. xD

At least in California if someone hops a fence to take your fruit, this is something you can do, but if the situation was a little bit different and the tree was in your house, legally you could shoot them... Wonder if it still applies given they're hopping your fence... Think it's a property law tho...

That aside, if it was a kid, I'd probably ask him to leave possibly even giving him more fruit, but an adult better be prepared for reprocautions, I'm bad at hesitating.

I'd prolly just nicely tell them to leave. If they were a neighbor (or someone I recognized) I would just say that if they asked first I'd let them have some anyway.

I'd let him have it. I wasn't going to sell them anyways. If I had fruit though I'd probably have an orchard so I'd still have plenty for myself. In fact I'd make fruit pies and throw them at intruders and make a little game out of it.
