What's different in the new mode for Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze (Switch Edition)

I've been very tempted to purchase the Nintendo Switch version of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze lately. What I want to know is, what does the new funky mode (or whatever it's called) offer that wasn't in the original Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze version and is this funky mode the only new additional to the game?

Back when it was announced, I did some reading about its content but I'm almost certain I can't remember everything about it. I need something to sell me on getting this for $60.

Other than funky mode I think there will be improved graphics, but that's probably it.

Well there is one other small new thing I noticed which was DK's new idle animation . Instead of pulling out a 3DS he pulls out a Switch now. But yeah unless this is one of your favorite games I would wait on rebuying

Funky Kong becomes a new playable character. As awesome as that it, probably not worth it if you owned it on Wii U. Especially because Funky is just Easy mode it looks like.
