Actually it could have been, if there was some new amazing smash bros dlc.
Or if they announced the new smash bros for NX!

Why would sakurai make another smash bros game for the NX because smash 4 just came out for wii u and 3DS? He wouldn't do that because smash games take a long time to make and sakurai is tired of being harassed of making more and more sequals even if the game just came out.

The creation of Super Smash Bros. 3DS took a lot from Sakurai, socially and physically. Maybe there is a possibility of another Super Smash Bros. game for the NX. But we won't see it until the early-mid to late 2020. Until the day, you can only pray that Sakurai will make a new installation, even though he said he felt he can no longer go on and that he doesn't want to see someone else develop the game in his place. We only have the other Smash games to go on and the amazing DLC we're seeing in the latest.
