What's The Best Pokemon Game To Start With?

I've never touched any main series Pokemon game, ever. I've watched like around 20 minutes of X/Y (Don't remember which one) footage. I'm gonna download the Omega/Ruby Alpha/Sapphire demo on the 3DS. So... Which one should I start the series with?

You should start with Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire, because this is a remake of old games. I've wanted to say to start with the originals, Red, Blue, Yellow or Green ( I'm almost sure Green is only at Japanese ) at an emulator or at the Game Boy console. You will learn from them the most, but the reason they are not the best is they don't ALL the Pokemons. only the Gen 1 Pokemons. but if you have a 3DS, download OR/AS, because it's a great game, with great and many features.

Pokémon Red or Blue of course. You need to respect the classics and how fun they were before you decide the get any other Pokémon game and this one has a few fun glitches for you to execute w/o a cheat device that can entertain you as well. It's solid difficulty curve and ability for you to explore the region and possibly get badges out of order is also a neat addition. And the type chart and mechanics are a bit different from recent Generations making this game unique and unexpected or expected and fun if you plan to replay it.

Yes you should start with the first games Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow. I enjoyed the glitches as well. Missingno is probably the best glitch of all time. The classics are definitely the best; I have always loved them. Tell us how you like them when you start playing!
