SSB for Wii U What's the deal with Shrek?

I know Shrek is now infamous around the Internet and I'm really confused. I know about Shrek is love. Shrek is life. But why did that have to be made? After Shrek 4, the Shrek series was done, why do people still talk about him? And when Smash 4 was announced, why did people have to keep joking that Shrek had to be in the game? This really confused me and didn't make sense. So can you please tell me in the comments why people wanted Shrek in the game. In my opinion, the Shrek franchise was alright, I prefer the How to Train Your Dragon and Kung Fu Panda franchises from Dreamworks over Shrek.

That is all. Just those words are enough to explain how absurd this thing is. It's like people who want Goku or Sora in SSB4. It makes no sense at all, and most of the time, posts like these are made by trolls, so, just ignore them.

Just some mivverse trolling lol. Sure I would actuAlly be a cool ssb character with moves even though nintendo would never do it. He could have an ogre breath like wario and is final smash could be big stench or something where he just stinkbombs the stage

NIEN! NIEN to Shrek! I loved the first movie, I cool with the second movie, tolerated the third and was bored of the fourth. Shriek isn't a bad character but he should stay with DreamWorks. No entering other universes.

I heard of the Shrek is love, Shrek is life but when I ask what's about people say "Don't go there...it's a dark place." Which makes me want to see it but...I tend to hesitate in searching it.

I'm through with Shrek because I found really disturbing Shrek pairings on DeviantArt...it was Shrek and Armin.... Don't go sticking Shrek in Attack on Titan!

But yeah I don't know why....it's actually really scary how people get angry if you insult Shrek...but I think people wanted Shrek in it because Snake and Sonic got to join the game and their not part of Nintendo. But before I pick Shrek I'd pick Sora or Toothless to be next in the game.

I heard there's going to be a fifth Shrek movie.....

I know it's a joke, but the day Dreamworks characters enter the Smash franchise is the day the series is ruined. I've seen plenty of Kingdom Hearts fans give up on the series because it became more Disney and less Final Fantasy.

I like the movies (the first one especially), but he should be in a Dreamworks Battle Royale or something, not a Smash game.

And, actually, Shrek actually is in game. Well, just an alternate skin of him. Use Donkey Kong, and put on that green skin. You're welcome, now you have Shrek in SSB4

Just imagine:

Oh I always heard of the "Shrek is love, Shrek is life" but I never knew he became a meme. I just remember logging into DeviantArt and my inbox being assaulted by Shrek. And him being shipped with every character out there.
