I would like to know what other people like. Personally my favorite starter is Mudkip because its so cute Its a fish with legs I mean COME ON PEOPLE HAVE TO LOVE A FISH WITH LEG'S
 
I agree, Mudkip is adorable! :D. When I first saw Mudkip my reaction was "Aw, it's so cute!" Back then I didn't even know Mudkip's name :rotfl:.I really like it's typing too! Water and ground makes it immune to electric but weak to grass.Plus, Mudkip evolves into Swampert which I still find cute,which is also very strong and a good competitive Pokemon.
 
Competitevely (I main LC plz don't judge) my favourite starter is Snivy as it's a mon with an easy spammable move leaf storm with contrary.

Based off of looks, I'm another Mudkip fan. It's kawaii :3

Also s/o to Froakie cuz it evolves into Greninja which is my fav full evolved starter mon. #BanScald
 
Cyndaquil was my all time favorite I still have him in my Pokéwalker (even though he is a Typhlosion now).

I was team Fennekin however in Pokémon X.

But upon starting over in X my new favorite (unofficial) starter was Pidgey I wanted to test Flying types as starters and it was awesome!

It's hard decision between Oshawott, Treecko and Froakie but I have to say Oshawott even tough Greninja and Sceptile are both really awesome
 
I cant decide between Charmander and Fennekin because Charmander was so awesome when i got him but when i saw Fennekin, i thought Fennekin was so cute i fell in love with that pokemon instantly too
 
Both Chimchar and Froakie are great. They're so powerful, especially if you use both in a double battle, then it's just amazing.
 
There's many starters that I like :3 But still forever my favorite starter will be Snivy. This starter had always seemed to appeal to me very much when B/W came out. It turned out to be very strong as well. That doesn't mean, however, that I don't like other starters like Chimchar and Mudkip :p

Mudkip!

I've played Emerald so many times now I can't even count. After all those playthroughs, I concluded that Mudkip was the best starter for the game and always picked him.

More on the competitive side, Serperior would be my favourite. Leaf Storm + Contrary Serperior is a BEAST, especially when you use it against an opponent's Icy Wind or Sticky Web.

Piplup is my favorit starter it is very adorable and strong when it evolves i also like it that it becomes as empoleon an water/iron type pokemon.
I also like it because its an penguin they are my favorite animals.:)

Squirrel because I have this turtle named Timmy and he's such a chill dude it's unbelievable so to see a pokemon similar to him in a game startled me and of course I chose him, kept him with me in every battle and he is now level 100 and one of the best pokemon I have in that game. Now, in my x game, i also have one of him because of the memories. Also, #squirtleSquadFTW

It would have to be Mudkip, I just like the water starters period.

To me I think that cyndaquil is great because he does a lot of damage and his final stage is the best. Chairman set is also a great one if it's shiny and when it gets to charzidar and can mega evolve he looks like a freakin boss. Also the first stage of blatoise is cool because he just looks like a killer. His moves are very powerful and with a lot of training it would be worth it.

For me it would be Cyndaquil,It's a tiny little adorable fire-type Pokémon and in the anime it sleeps a lot which is cute to watch. but when it evolves into Typhlosion it looks really cool. When I first played Heart Gold, I kept on spamming Eruption or Lava Plume.

My favorite starter is Treecko! It was awesome back the and it's even more awesome now that Sceptile got a mega evolution! It's sad though that it has always been nerfed or hindered in many ways, resulting in it not being as useful as it should. For example, on top of a terribly shallow movepool, it got one of the best moves it can learn, Giga Drain, at level 53 and ONLY if it didn't evolve! It has many good things going for it too though! It has a really useful ability (Unburden) and, as a Sceptile, it already has high Sp. Atk. and Speed stats, so after that boost, you are good to go. You can also change the strategy a bit and go with Mega Sceptile, which has greatly improved offensive power and speed as well as a nice Dragon typing, with a Discharge partner in doubles, getting a Sp. Atk. boost every turn thanks to Lightningrod!

My favourite starter form each gen
Gen 1: charmander. Come on, it's a freaking dragon in its last form
Gen 2: Totodile.
Gen 3: Treecko/Torchic. both are incredible, couldn't choose one over the other
Gen 4: Chimchar. Infernape is epic
Gen 5: Snivy. he's cool and the other two aren't. simpl

My favourite starter is Turtwig, so cute and adorable!
When Pearl came out I completed the game for the first time by only using Torterra! It was like level 80 when I reached the League. :p
It destroyed literally everything, except for those Team Galactic Commanders' Golbat on mt. Coronet ( ran out of PP for the Rock type move and rival's Munchalx did nothing useful) ugh... :(
Other starter I like are Treecko, Bulbasaur and Cindaquil, all very cute and useful too!

My favourite starters in terms of evolutions are Froakie and Torchic, cuz they evolve into Greninja and Blaziken, which are so cool!
In terms of first stage, I like Mudkip and Totodile.
If I had to choose just one starter, I would choose Turtwig. Turtwig looks so sute! Grotle looks cool, and Torterra looks awesome
