Which controller will become easier to use? WiiU pad or will the GameCube still rule?

I think the Gamepad will be more popular than the wiimote but the GameCube controller will still rule. What do you think?

I agree with this. But considering the WiiU has yet to physically receive Game Cube controller support, even as a third-party device. The gamepad will definitely be the go-to until proper GC Controller support is set free to world. I haven't even gotten a Wii U yet and I'm still tracking the important stuff such as GC controller support, SSB wouldn't be the same without it. I'm still skeptical about SSB3ds' control system but it shows promise. We'll all find out first-hand Oct. 3rd though, be patient fellow Smashers... Almost there.

I believe the gamecube as that is what allot of members are used to. I am going to be continuing using a gamecube controller when i play smash however that's just me. I know there will be people that prefer to play with the gamepad and theirs nothing wrong with that :cat:

The GameCube controller would probably continue its rule... If the Wii U supported GameCube controller compatabilitie :/ its too bad that it hasn't yet in any way. Hopefully Nintendo figures out that we want the GameCube controller back! ;P

Like Wayne said, they've already made it compatible. The Gamecube controller was even used for the Wii U demo at E3 and Best Buys. In fact, it was the only available controller to be used for it, not Wiimote, Gamepad(wouldn't work with 4 people there anyway), or even the Wii U Pro Controller.

Though that's true, rumor has it that it won't actually release to everyone until SSB on Wii U releases, or somewhat before/possible shortly after. It's still great news after all.

Rumor has it? I don't know if you even read that article Wayne posted, but it's confirmed to release the same day as Super Smash Bros. for Wii U.

Gameqube controller but I can't get one because it's probably going to be like $40.00 which is expensive for me :(. I always use my gamepad especially for mario kart 8 but I will the Gameqube controller work for mk8?

Gamecube ftw. It is user friendly and a sign of a good game is one that doesn't need a touch screen/motion controls to play but can have them if you choose to want them. I mean just look at SSB4. You can't really want to try the Gamepad if you've been used to the GCN controller since 2001.

Ebay has some for less than $10. You should check it out if you want one and can buy from online.

You can't beat it, the GameCube's controller is God's controller :D.
It's the only controller with which you can quickly and easily KO your enemies (okay, okay, you can also do it with any controller, but admit it's better with the GC controller), and it fits perfectly your hands. And there's the C-Stick to quickly smash, too (useful if you need to smash quickly, or if you're a beginner).

So, GC controller if I had a choice (though I don't have a WiiU).

The Gamecube controller of course, though, I can't really judge too well because I've never used the Wii U Game-Pad before, much less ever saw it in real life, so by default I'm going with the Gamecube controller.

To be honest, I know this is a bit random, but I rather the Wiimote and Nunchuck compare to the Gamecube controller, I have no idea why: it just feels better. I think if I've ever seen/played with the Wii U Game-Pad, I might (just might) choose it over the Gamecube controller, because I've heard so many things about it (the Game-Pad).

This is what I really want though:
Work on this Nintendo, work on it...

I never liked to use the gamecube controler when playing Super Smash Bros. (Except for Melee, because how else would you play? Lol). I find the Wii Remote and Nun-chuck to be a tad easier to control.

@Reece people who have the Wii U Gamepad aren't even too sure if the controls will be good, as the game hasn't come out yet. They can speculate based on people who have played the game via Wii U Gamepad, but it's really not enough for anyone who hasn't played to fully know. Other than that, I totally agree with you concerning the Gamecube adapter thingy for the 3DS! :p

Well, there is another controller to use besides the gamepad. It's hard to get use to (in my opinion) for Smash 4, but I'm pretty sure, no matter what, Gamecube controllers will stay on top.
