When I started the game, I went with warrior because that seemed like a good pick. And I still think warrior is one of the best jobs. Cleric is also really good for the heals and I also like the goofy ones like chef or pop star.

I would choose thief. I choose thief not because i go around stealing everything (in other rpgs like Skyrim, and various dungeon crawlers, i tend to use thief for stealth purposes and for speed. occasionally i would steal, but from enemies. in skyrim as well, im pretty sure being a thief gives u abilities to have better lockpicking.) but because i like the speed and stealth. It may be one of the weakest, but really it can give you opportunities to get better gear, at least in most other games. I have not tried this game, but by looking it up, it seems similar to other casual rpgs.
