So I decided to watch some of the old Pokémon movies starting with Mewtwo Strikes Back up to the latest one. And I noticed they completely changed Mewtwo and his voice.

I know they can't get the same person to speak for Mewtwo but they could have at least kept him the same, and I know at the end of the Mewtwo Strikes Back his personality changes but it didn't change drastically.

The old Mewtwo sounded powerful (heck he was powerful) and intimidating this new one in the Genesect movie sounded like a little boy or a tough girl...maybe they were going for a 'girl' Mewtwo?

And his design made him look smaller. I don't know, personally I like the old Mewtwo this new one not so much.

(Also why doesn't Ash remember any of the Pokémon he met!?)

I think the old Mewtwo was better in Mewtwo Strikes Back, at the beginning he was just a flat out powerful boss, he takes your pokemon from you after he beats you, and proceeds to call you worthless. I love that type of edge, even though it kind of takes it too far. I also like his realization moment at the end of the movie where he realize being powerful wasn't the only thing that mattered. The new Mewtwo sounded rather girly, probably since Genesect was supposed to be the main attraction. Plus Mewtwo quotes in the old movie was cool.

(Also I think Ash has short term memory loss)

Actually, the Mewtwo in the Genescect movie isn't the same one as the one in Mewtwo Strikes Back. And I think they were going for a 'wise sounding' Mewtwo for the Genescect movie.

And I have no idea why Ash can't remember anything. Maybe for dramatic affect? :3

The older mewtwo in Mewtwo Strikes Back is definitely better I think. He was the big ruler and wanted to find his purpose and conquer the universe. The older Mewtwo was definitely better.

What happened to Ash? His brain was (actually still "is") injured.
