I think Garbodor is very underrated due to him being... well trash. I've heard that he is very good in competitive play though due to him being defensive.

I know, people are complaining because he is trash, but Muk, who is kinda the same thing is fantastic just because it is from gen 1

Muk >>>>>>>>> Garbodor. The first one is an amorphous mass of toxic waste, the other seems literally like a garbage bag that got too full.

Ironically, I was thinking of Garbador as well... after just reading the thread title and before reading your post :hilarious:

Sigilyph... Sigilyph is one of the most terrifying mons I've ever fought but he's a rare competitor somehow. He's one more case where you have to smash it with a rock as soon as possible. Cobalion is is pretty underrated, too. Like Xerneas, he has the stats and move pool to play any role he wants and a great defensive and offensive typing, but no one uses him for anything... Cobalion could probably even be erased from the game without disturbing anything.

I like sigilyph, specially the build with a fire orb, psycho shift and cosmic power :p. I haven't tried it in an actual team tho, only seen it in some random showdown battles.

Most underrated pokemon is chesnaught. Everyone overlooks chesnaught as the one starter nobody likes despite how cool looking it is. Such sad it's overshadowed by the ninja frog and the fox wizard. Both of them are cool too, but chesnaught is really neat in particular. Way more people should pick chesnaught as a charizard if you know what I am saying.

I think Scraggy is one of those underrated Pokémon, to the point that I was not considering of using it back in the day. However, my opinion on Scraggy started to change when I won when using it in my first battle, which happens to be random battle in the Showdown, that I appreciate it a bit more, especially when its ability, Moxie, goes in action.

Another one would also be Tornadus. Despite the other two parts of his trio being on also every competitive team, Tornadus gets no play by comparison and is only seen in rain teams in his Therian form. I play him because it doesn't make sense to me, he's just as competent as the other two when strategies are concerned, and all three have very similar stat distributions, he's equally OP yet somehow underused. I'd have to say Tornadus's underrated since he should get a lot more play than he actually does. He is a top tier threat when on the field so his lack of use seems unusual.

Another 5th gen pokemon that is underrated is marcactus. Sure its not very good in battle, but I think it could be improved upon somehow. pachirisu is not a great electric type, but someone in the tournaments found out his use in competitive play.

Underrated 5th gen Pokémon... I would say Kyurem

I don't mean Kyurem-White or Black, I mean normal Kyurem

Is quite an underused Pokemon, with not that good stats and moves, but IMO he could be a huge threath

You're right, he's just like Rayquaza having obscenely high offenses and ties with him having base 95 speed, he should be just as viable of a threat yet he's completely overlooked in most cases.

I'd like to say Stunfisk, too, his defenses are solid and should be totally playable, but I've fought him maybe only one and not in a competitive team.

I think Durant is the most underrated Pokemon because he's rarely used but has insane attack power when adding up its ability and Life Orb. I even used to sweep with Durant once in one of my online matches in Gen 5.

I have another underrated 5th gen... its Swoobat. The reason many didn't put Swoobat on their team is because of its poor stats. the only thing that made this pokemon great was its speed. To tell you the truth, Swoobat's speed alone with a timid nature is very good in competitive battle.

(Are we talking about B/W or B2/W2? I only recently decided to pick up W2 and I havent played it because I want to transfer all the pokes to Y or AS)

Op said "underrated, but you guys are just bashing garbador . _. I think that durant was underrated because no one payed attention to him. He only appeared at the end of the game, and by then you have your entire team set. Even if you decided to pick him up, he was terribly under-leveled. The bug-steel type showed that he had a great potential, and I'm sure I could confirmed that if I ever used him. >_<

Umm...I wasn't bashing garbador because in my opinion he is a very good tank and great for poisoning your opponent. Also B/W and B2/W2 is the same generation. One more thing is that I have to agree with you on Durant. I've seen some solid plays with Durant online, plus his attack, speed, and defense is very good. Personally I think he could be used for attacking while taking in some hits from pokemon that are not very effective against it. Maybe one day I might try him out to see how well he compliments my team.

I wasn't saying you personally. I just saw some guy say that garbador is litterally just an overflowing trash bag. I understand that he could have added more, but he didn't even say anything GOOD about him. IMO, garbador is OVERRATED because of his criticism that is undeserved. Everyone thinks that just because he is trash he is bad. Underrated to me means that people don't give enough attention to the poke's stats or the poke in general. There is way too much &%@# surrounding garbador, so he is "famous" for being "crap". He is infamous in a way.

The majority of the thread has been about stats and generalities though. You probably should have read it, Durant has been mentioned already, too.

Wow, you're ignorant. You know what, never mind. You're right. I have no right build my opinion off somebody else's. Might as well forget I ever posted here, because I have no reason to share my opinion, or elaborate on others'. e _e
