Who Might Be The Newest Character For The Newest SSB Installment?

Hello everyone! I'm here to discuss what the final DLC character might be for Super Smash Brothers Wii U/3DS Edition.

As we all know, there is still one more slot for both a new DLC Character and a DLC Stage for the newest installation of SSB for the 3DS and Wii U. I want to talk about who the new DLC Character might be, and not the stage, seeing as how it would be easier to make a different blog on the subject.

Anyways, we can probably try to guess what the last DLC Character slot could be based on past decisions made by Nintendo. The smartest way I have seen is by 3 specific rules that play big roles in the SSB series.

1. It cannot be an Assist Trophy in the current game.

2. It cannot be a Regular Trophy in the current game.

3. It cannot be a Sticker (which is seen in SSBB, but the rule doesn't apply too well here.)

The reasons these are all very important rules is because if there is a trophy of that character, then why create DLC of it? It's just logical that the DLC character doesn't already have a regular trophy seeing as how you could get that trophy when the DLC arrives. It is obvious that it cannot be an Assist Trophy because well... let's say Link was both an Assist Trophy and a DLC. Link fighting while Link assisting..? Yeah, that would be slightly awkward and weird to think about...

With those 3 important logical rules set, I think it's safe to say that we can set our own "temporary rules" to help us discover what this last DLC character might be.

My brother and I personally think Issac from the Golden Sun series would be a logical character for the new DLC character to come out because although he was an Assist Trophy in the past, he isn't an Assist Trophy nor a regular Trophy in the new SSB Installment.

The Dlc character could be wolf. I think Wolf should stop hiding from around the corner any longer. He was even voted before Mewtwo tagged along. He was in brawl as a mid tier character and everyone usually liked his playstyle. I also think that because he has been in the latest installment of the smash bros brawl games.

Yes, I agree. Wolf might make the final DLC Character, because it does follow the rules, and he has been in previous games, making it more likely for him to be a DLC Character. ^-^

I think that Wolf is a viable choice, while I'm not too big on him though. I'd rather prefer Snake as a veteran, but that's just me. I thought Snake was a unique choice for Smash considering he's one of the few that aren't from kid-friendly-let's-all-pet-puppies games. Seriously, all of the characters are either a) Extremely kiddy (Mario, Sonic, Pikachu) or b) Reasonably kiddy (Fox, Shulk, Marth). Snake was pretty far out there as a choice, and I liked it.

My personal favorite would add Paper Mario, but he probably won't get in due to the whole Trophy Clause. I'm just laughing at the people who think Waluigi will actually get in. He is never going to get in Smash 4. At least Paper Mario has a slight (but not large) chance.

Solid Snake would definitely make the chance for SSB4. And it is true, Snake isn't at all a "kiddy" character/franchise. I personally would love to see Snake make it into the SSB4 series!

I hate to counter your claim, but... SSB4 is actually a game played by plenty of children, also, and it does focus more around the "kiddy" kind of feel to it. Otherwise, SSB4 would have blood and gore. And that is where Snake would fit in, more of that "kill/teen-adult" kind of content, which is why he was removed...

But that would be amazing to see Snake come back! He really is a character that I personally like to figure out all of the moves for, and his combos can be pretty good.

Oh, and yeah, Paper Mario would be cool. He has his own stage and everything already. lol ^^

Snake (most likely because of the Lucas trailer featuring two snakes), Wolf for the heck of a returning Brawl Character, Squirtle, or Pichu as they are all character from previous installments that did not make it and they are really good characters that have fighting styles that vary from the existing roster with the exception of Pichu and Wolf if you want to be technical as Fox has customs that mimic Wolf's and I'm not sure but maybe Falco's. It's not like Wolf was top tier to begin with but he was better known for powerful aerials and long distance smash attacks. Snake plays like a complicated version of Villager so maybe they will put Snake out because of the problems with balancing him as well.
