Hello everyone,
I'm back from a long vacation and I'm sorry to all the people I didn't reply to when it was my birthday...
Anyways, When it was my birthday I was able to buy SSB for WiiU and 3DS and I have one question...
WHO OR WHAT IS CRAZY/MASTER HAND!?!?!?!?!?
I have spent the last 2 hours trying to figure out where the origin of Crazter Hand and I found nothing. If SSB 4 did what they did in SSBB and used the boss "Tabuu" which controlled the hands, I could understand. But still, WHO OR WHAT ARE THE HANDS SUPPOSED TO BE!?!?!?

I always thought that Master and Crazy Hand were Mario and Luigis' hands when I was little. But now I like to think that the hands belong to Sakurai-sensei and he is testing the powers of his "children" (you Mario, Pikachu, Link, etc)

@Jeff The Killer has a point...
So the theory goes that those Master Hands are Masahiro Sakurai's hand...He created almost all of those characters and he is pushing them to hte limit

Ever since the game came out the opening cinematic for SSB64 made me think Master Hand was a kid playing with his toys - since that's pretty much what Smash was, pre-trophies. Whatever they are now, their bromance makes me envious. I'll never have such a glorious pre-battle fistbump.

(Incidentally, happy birthday.)

This is a theory from the game theorists. So there was a hand that picked up the trophies (character s in smash) and smash is like his life. You could see the background in SSBM ( SUPER SMASH BROS MELEE) And how he grew up and all

Yeah. I thought that too. Especially since the Amiibos (and the idea of them since the first game I believe) have arrived and they are physical versions of the characters you can move onto your "table" and play with them or against them. Either that or Sakurai just wanted the Kirby feel of the game in Smash Bros. by making a boss character as descriptive as a Kirby boss character since the transition Kirby had to the 64 was fairly easy.

A little bit a lore from game theory but here's who those hands are. Master hand is Sakurai's Right hand, it does the creativity and crazy hand is his left hand, it does the destruction, if you read the trophy on melee, you will know more, Tabuu is his life preventing him to enjoy things that he had in his childhood and master core is himself trying to take everything away. master hand shows up in Kirby on SNES (not sure if he did) and Crazy hand shows up for the 1st time on melee.

The hands are master Sakurai's hands. Throughout the whole series he is trying to fight the work that he does. (making games) He wants to do other things in his life. In super Smash brawl after you defeat master hand, there is the master core which is a symbol that Sakurai hands himself over and knows that he can't escape. Sakurai has put his blood and tears into making these games and if he keeps making them then he has to endure more pain. So really master hand is Sakurai trying to fight for his life and to do other things

The general firm theory of Master hand draws back to Smash 64 that it represents a kid playing with his plush toys. Then in Melee, it's apparent that he grew up a bit, but that's when things start going off-tangent there. The appearance of Crazy hand postulates from a kid with autism to Sakurai wanting to destroy his own creation, both with has their credibility in their own ways. In Brawl and Smash 4, it's nearly pretty much theory at that point drawing from the conclusions of Melee. These two video do a decent job on explaining Master and Crazy hands' origins, though both has different perspective.
