Who remembers Rygar?

I played this game all the time when I was a kid. Actually, my uncle had the game and I kind of "permanently" borrowed it from him. I remember it being about your hero defeating the evil King Ligar. It kind of reminded me of Krull in a way. The soundtrack was pretty cool too.

I have the PS2 "remake" and only given it a try, but from what I saw it's an interesting game.
Might try the original NES version too.

So, what’s the story behind this tale? What exactly is the hero trying to do? I NEED ANSWERS! Seriously though, this doesn’t look half bad.
