Who Was Superior In The 16-bit war? Nintendo Or SEGA?

im sure all of us had a snes or a genesis and remember that genesis does what nintendont commercial. But if you had to choose who was superior during the 16-bit era was it nintendo or sega? did you choose a snes because of mode 7 allowing for cool 3d like effects and stuff, or did you choose a genesis because of games that we love like sonic the hedgehog and street fighter?
What do you think? Give a reason as to why you chose sega or Nintendo.

Sega. I've always preferred Sonic to Mario, and the Genesis had a lot of great beat 'em ups - Streets of Rage, Golden Axe, and Michael Jackson's Moonwalker (go ahead, laugh at me ).

Also, the Genesis had games like Shining Force

SNES BY A LANDSLIDE

Except for sports games. Or fast moving games for that matter. The SNES had a lot of slowdown & flicker (especially in its first couple of years). It's processor was s-l-o-w.

Im very conflicted here.....snes was epic due to earthbound but, sega with street fighter was a preety good combo due to the replay value of street fighter. And sonic the hedgehog was one of the most funnest and challenging sega game ever!

The SNES by a mile. The SNES had games like Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, Final Fantasy 3/6,
F-Zero, Super Bomberman, Pilotwings , Starfox, Earthbound which were undoubtedly one of the best RPG games ever made.

I would say SNES because it had much more fun games than SEGA. Even though I myself owned the SEGA genesis but I always wanted a SNES because Mario was my favorite.

In my opinion I would say the Super Nintendo won the war. I was mostly a Nintendo kid when I was younger and never really knew about Sega. I liked sonic but I grew up with Mario and liked him and the LoZ more.

I think that both Sega and Nintendo were really great during those times but my choice will have to go for Nintendo because it was a lot more fun and there were more fun series like The Legend of Zelda and Mario , so it's Nintendo for me for the win
