Seriously?! All the downloadable characters are not even worth the money! I mean if they were free it would be at least acceptable! People vote for Sonic Characters!
 
I know lol. I agree with you on the money part. Why money? We already paid for the wiiu and the game. Haven't we already PAID enough?? But the character s are cool and fun to play as and its a joy seeing old characters to return. Also I want to see more characters return
 
No. If they are making new characters you should be able to have to buy them because they worked hard on them. Sure they are known by more hardcore gamers and people of Japan but I don't mind. You can live without DLC as you said and don't complain and ask for them for free because you don't deserve them. That's life. I did vote for a Sega character btw from a more deserving series than Sonic (Puyo ftw).

I was thinking about this today: Why charge just to make the DLC characters playable, when the updates insert them into the game anyway? They're in there even if you don't buy them. I mean, they appear in multiplayer and all.

I think it's because they spent more money to bring the characters in. Licensing. This is particularly true in Ryu's case since he doesn't belong to Nintendo at all. $6 is a high price but anyone who wanted him badly before would probably pay that much anyway.

The DLCs aren't all that bad imo. Mewtwo I got as a Club Nintendo promo, so free. He is fresh and pretty strong, just a bit too light for suiting. I personally love using Lucas. Lucas has one of the best air games ever, and his attacks have a lot of range. Roy also seems to have greatly improved from Melee. He is certainly way better than Marth and Lucina, and he is a lot stronger too, having his power come from the base of the sword. Ryu is just strong. Ryu has a lot of moves and sound effects that are inspired from street fighter, plus all the special commands he uses are amazing as well, which is probably why he costs the most. Mewtwo was probably to test DLC functionality. Lucas was added probably because he was popular in brawl. Roy was added probably for the fun of it. Ryu required lots of licensing agreements and what not, so him costing more and coming with a stage makes sense.
