Why do people say this when it comes to any game

I know this is because my friend is jealous but he said mario kart wii is better than mario kart 8. He said its just a bunch of items. The thing is, he does not have a wii u. Wow. I know mario kart 8 is the best mario kart game, is he jealous or something? For what I know, mario kart 8 is 10 billion times better but why do people say untrue opinions?

Well , I can say that it's because he hasn't tried Mario Kart 8 and doesn't have a Wii U , to be simplistic enough He says that probably because he just sticks to the nostalgia that the Mario Kart Wii has , same for Mario Kart DS or he hasn't tried it .

I bet once he tries it he will change his mind immediately

Yeah people usually say something that will totally change their mind the moment they try something that they think "sucks". It could be due to jealousy. I sometimes think that a certain game sucks, until I try it and say "Wow this game is awesome" (that was me when I was playing Mega Man)

He is most likely jealous but he could just genuinely not like the game. Sure it is fun but to me the controls take a bit to get used to and sometimes I am in shock of how realistic it looks for a Mario game. He just doesn't want you to like the game or something.

How could you "know" that MK8 is the best ? That's just your opinion too. I'm not saying I like MK Wii better, nor that I like MK8 better (I have none of both so I don't really care which one is better), just that maybe there are things he likes in MK Wii and things he doesn't like in MK8, that's possible. See how many "newcomers" liked Brawl and said Melee was ugly, too fast and with a weird abused gameplay, while every "veteran" prefered Melee to the slow and restrictive gameplay of Brawl.

Your friend could be jealous but opinions vary to tell the truth.. Some people just prefer to stick to the old stuff after making a comparison, of course one can't know exactly if they haven't tried it and that opinion could easily change. Maybe you believe that MK8 is the best but your friend believes otherwise~ It's not necessarily untrue.

Mario kart Wii was okay. However, Mario kart 8 is superior to the Wii version in any possible way. he is probably jealous fo not owning a Wii U and mario kart 8 like you, and has to stick with his outdated Wii console and Mario kart Wii. But everyone has their opinions...

He might be a big fan of battle mode, which might explain his dislike of Mario Kart 8. Admittably, the battle mode in that game is less than stellar. He also just doesn't have enough expirience to fairly judge the game, or finds it ironic how Diddy Kong is in Smash but not Mario Kart.

The thing is, he never even played mario kart 8. He does not even have a wii u for the heck of it, I dought he even saw a trailer of mk8. All he has is a wii. I guess people have preferences but he does not have both versions which makes me be like, wow. I respect that opinion if he had mk8 but NO, he does not have a wii u or probably even seen a trailer.

Yeah but he does not have a wii u. Or mario kart 8. You cant say anything until they actually have it. Then an opinion can be respected. Do you have mario kart 8? Then I respect your opinion of you liking mario kart 7. Usally, to make an opinion, you have to have it. Then a opinion can not be denied. But you are right with that.

Well, sometimes people tends to be negative to your opinions, unconsciously. To have a debate or something. And he may be jealous, unconsciously. But yeah, why can't people try to experience something before saying any negative thoughts about it?

I would say that he is just jealous of you having a WiiU and he doesn't. People tend to do this sort of thing when they are jealous. He may be just trying to make you think that Mario Kart 8 sucks. If he says that Mario Kart Wii is better than Mario kart 8, that is his opinion, but he has to at least try the game before saying that Mario Kart wii is better.

Yes, I think that you shoul let you friend try the game first before you let him make a guess at which one he lokes better. I do this sometimes, everyone does. Just let him work it out and choose which one he thinks is the best. At the end of the day, it all just really comes down to your personal view. This really is the deciding factor in which game you will end up liking better.

In a way he's right. It is a serious racing game with fairly balanced items to keep gameplay from being somewhat boring and perhaps unfair at times to keep things interesting. You could say the same thing with Brawl and items in Brawl was what made the game fun. If that's the way this person sees it (whether he likes the game or not as he says it) than just leave it as it is.

I don't think he is jealous he just doesn't have the game and he has mario kart wii so he is just sticking to that right now but if he gets mario kart 8 he will most likely change his mind but he might not and just really likes the mario kart Wii better and just deal with that.
