After all the hours you spent playing pokemon, battling, trading, breeding, training, making pr videos, working at a hotel, buying stuff, catching pokemon and other stuff have you ever wondered why you play pokemon? Is it the story, raising pokemon, completing the pokedex just why? For me it's the story itself. What do you think?

Because its honestly cool. Multiple Pokemon types, different Pokemon moves, items, heck the creatures themselves are always different. It has lots of variety, and you can replay the game over and over again with different Pokemon. One of the greatest game series imo.

I stopped playing Pkm some time ago, still the reason I played it was for its story (I also love RPG), so we're on the same club.

I'm not interested on the online or the competitive side breeding and that stuff because well... I got bored with that :p
Also I don't like to touch online games too much, still if it's a fighting game or a racing one, I say yes without blinking :panda:

I play Pokemon because I have nothing better to do in my life.

Pokémon is an adventurios game that I love to play because its competitive,a hard game, training (which I like and do most of my time playing but since ORAS is coming out,i'm not playing it),I play pokemon because its fun, entertaining and u have to train your pokemon and compete with other players, that's when all your hard work is put to the test.

I don't know what got me into Pokemon. Once I was introduced to the world of Pokemon from my brother, I was hooked. I can't explain my love for Pokemon. I just don't know how to, because I can't explain. Maybe it's the adventure and traveling inside the Pokemon world. Catching Pokemon, training them, meeting new friends, exploring a region, etc. Pokemon is such a great example of a great game. It's so addictive. Pokemon is like a reward to gamers.

^^Adding on to my post on a similar thread...

Pokemon is an adventurous game, filled with many exciting features, such as Contests, Gym Battles, Competitive Battles, etc. The game itself is wonderful. The story, the music, the adventures, etc. This is pretty much the reason why Pokemon is a top selling franchise. The creation of this gaming series is somewhat a prize to adventurous gamers, and I'm one of them. I just love exploration games. Games like Pokemon just get me so addicted, because of the amazing journey I have to fulfill.

Gee, I can't explain why I love Pokemon. The above is only an introduction... And yet, if I could summarize my big novel (Yes, is that not a surprise? The reason why I love Pokemon is like a novel telling the reader why they love something.), I'd most likely say "Pokemon is a journey, and the greatest one."

because it fun and i dont have to think to hard while battling the computer

I mostly play Pokemon, because I have absolutely no life outside of school, running, and band. ;) I really do not do anything outside of those things except for playing video games. (Mostly Pokemon) I also love the tedious tasks of chaining for Shinies and IV Breeding. The final reason I play Pokemon is so I can sell pokemon and such, On this site

Because I want to be the very best, that no one ever was (epic music) i cauf=ght them all so it's not as much of a test, but to train them was my cause, I might have caught them all but I still am not the best I don't what I'm doing anymore (epic music) why am I still talking music please stop playing (Pokemon!) where did I get backup singers now I'm off topic but who really cares.

Anyway I play because I like the challenge and my game tells me that I've spent 860 hours breeding:confused:
crazy right!

I wanted to play pokemon because I wanted an rpg game that had many characters and have some sort of critical move to a specific pokemon kind of thing. Also the pokemons like Charizard were very appealing to me and their designs were really good, I mostly liked how to pokemon's looked mostly.

Why do I play Pokemon?

Because it's an awesome game series where I can strive to catch the 100+ Pokemon in the region, fight other trainers to earn cash, conquer gyms to qualify for the Pokemon League, stop a villainous team from accomplishing it's goals, capture legendary Pokemon with unrivaled powers, defeat the Elite Four and become the league champion.

And that's just what you're supposed to do to complete the story. In addition you can play with your Pokemon and feed them, train them by playing football against giant balloons, work at a fancy hotel, go shopping, visit cool and exciting places, trade with your friends, breed your Pokemon, and play through the game again using different Pokemon from the wide selection you're offered.

But the main reason I play it? Because it's fun.

These days I just beat the game to start IV breeding so that I can train and use 'em over Wi-Fi for competitive play. So yeah, that's why I play Pokemon. Before, I enjoyed battling gym leaders and collecting those gym badges, foiling the plans of evil doers such as Team Aqua, and working my way to becoming a Pokemon master.

I'm getting a bit tired of running into trainers and encountering wild Pokemon in the grass now, :panda:

For me, the story has always been an exciting part of pokemon. i also love to try out competitive battling and collecting a bunch of shinies. there have been many times where I get bored of pokemon and leave for a while, but there always seems to be some unexplainable reason that pulls me back.

Because I grow up with it. I really hope they will use the same set of original pokemon, because now I don't know any of the pokemon in ORAS :(
I didn't play X & Y and people said they are very good, so I want to try it in ORAS

Competitive Battling and I love RPGS

Every new pokemon game has balance changes that keep the competitive scene fresh. Just like patch updates for your favorite MMOs and Mobas.

RNG in shiny pokemon and battling giving a unpredictable factor in every game, and battle. Some pokemon designs are ill....and I grew up with it.

I only play for the mighty Gyarados. I just want to quickly evolve the stupid Magikarp and watch the Gyarados wreak havoc upon everyone with constant EQs. That sums it up.
