Why does Link not have a girlfriend and other questions

hello guys i am addicted to zelda i love this game it is so damn cool i can spend days on playing zelda but i was wondering does link never sleep eat go to the bathroom shower (he must smell very bad )
and who is links girlfriend
and another thing who has the old nintendo 64 and likes zelda that way to it is a old console but such nice graphics and i think zelda is just the beeeeeeeeeeeest game ever and i am gonna buy each time the newest zelda thanks for watching

Sleep- Actually, we do see link sleep, in Sky Sword and Ocarina of Time 3D, the player is given the ability to sleep just by going into either your bed or another npc's bed to recover hearts, and apparently (Whilst i was researching this xD) "he technically does fall asleep during the stories Anju's Grandmother reads, and in OoT, he's put into a magical sleep within the Temple of Light for seven years".
Eat- I did not know the answer to this one, so i looked it up on Yahoo:
Link doesn't eat; he's a tree.

So yeah, apparent from the Sariah's thing which i don't get XD, he has eaten things before.
Bathroom- On the topic of Link going to the Bathroom, there is a theory that he does not wear underwear, and "relieves himself" whenever he goes swimming, so make sure you let him go for a dip every once in a while, otherwise you might see that his outfit does actually change colour! *wink wink*
Showering- The reason he doesn't shower is quite simple, which is due to the general time line that LoZ was set in( i think it was the middle ages), during the middle ages many men and women simply did not care about "personal hygiene" and "keeping clean" (although many historians do say that people during those times did have baths, but in a different way to many expect, apparently, i don't know that much about it XD)
Girlfriend- Considering he is always traveling, doesn't speak, doesn't "shower", goes to "relieve himself" in lakes and ponds, and is always being chased by a mob of chickens, i doubt he would be able to keep a solid relationship, especially with the first two points, as in middle ages they had no form of communication through electronic devices and such, since he travels he wouldn't be able to contact her much, and even if they were to meet up on a regular basis he wouldn't talk anyway( and having a good relationship requires good communication skills xD). The 3rd/4th reasons would put a girl off in the first place and being chased by chickens is not ideal!

I hope i could kinda give you some insights through my point of view of how Link actually functions as a human, its a bit messy but i hope you enjoyed it XD

In cartoons and anime and stuff like that, you never see them "relieve themselves" because its not essetinal to the storyline (unless it actually is ) Sleep he doesn't because like in Pokemon or Mario or something, they don't go to sleep because it doesn't matter. Isn't Saria Link's girlfriend ? I always did thought so . But since Link always travels and all , I guess that he doesn't have all that time for that . All he has is Navi .

I don't think that showering or going to the bathroom is much of something , it's always the same for all other games , for example Pokemon games ._.

I'm probably going to be rehashing a few of the things the above posters have stated but here I go.

Link has been shown to be sleeping in Ocarina of Time, he can sleep in his bed if need be and after the point of drawing the Master Sword he's technically been in a coma for seven years until the end of the game. In Majora's Mask he can fall asleep in listening to Anju's Grandmother without wearing the All Night Mask. Link is also shown to be asleep at the start of LTTP and is descendant in ALBW.

Spoiler: Game spoilers

The very same Link from LTTP was even asleep the whole time Link's Awakening took place, with the game taking place in the Wind Fish's dream.

Link eats the hearts of his enemies throughout all games apples in both LTTP and ALBW, drinks potions in various titles of the franchise as well as Chateau Romani in Majora's Mask and milk in OOT, MM, Minish Cap, TP, and finally ALBW. I believe fish can also be caught but not eaten.

While they do not show showering and going to the bathroom for obvious reasons, I'd imagine that he could possibly shower under one of the waterfalls around Hyrule or use a natural spring.

Finally, Link is a different incarnation in most titles of the franchise, each having their own romantic interests throughout. In Ocarina of Time, he has Ruto who gives Link the Zora's Sapphire which doubles an engagement ring for the Zoras, but until then she has to wait for her and him to grow up. It's also hinted after saving Nabooru that her "reward" was something bigger. Saria could also be seen as potential girlfriend until he had to leave. LTTP Link was also kinda coerced (had no say) into getting married to the Maku Tree in Oracle of Ages. The most prominent is in Skyward Sword as Link and Zelda are childhood friends at the beginning and possibly a couple by the end of it. It should also be noted that Child Link from Majora's Mask and Link from LTTP eventually got together with someone and had a child as both TP and ALBW respectively are descendant from them. (MM Child Link most likely hooked up with Malon considering TP Link is a rancher.)

It is possible that Link does have Zelda as a girlfriend in some incarnations but it's not alluded to aside from SS.

Actually eating hearts and various other organs from animals is something a lot of real life cultures do. Maybe Hyrule is such a culture that does this.

And I do agree that he can be a lone wolf sometimes but after the adventure is over that does mean he can settle down. (Refer to LTTP Link and MM OOT Child Link above)

Link does bathe... In the water temples and lakes. He drinks potions and in one occasion, soup, and I guess he sleeps when you get a game over. Link has a ton of girls as well, Ruto, Zelda, The Great Maku Tree and a bunch of others. The N64 graphics are great and I love them too.

Girlfriend? He travels the world with a sword on his back, he got no time for pretty woman. And we never see a girl Links age expect Romani, Children at the Kokari Forest, and Zelda. He doesn't have many options, but I've always wanted him to marry Romani ;3

He's always in water, he doesn't need a shower ;3 That, or he was a Christian (Get the history joke? Yeah? Wink wink?)

He isn't constantly eating, but he has potions, soup, and other stuff.

In the beginning of Ocarina he's asleep, in Wind Waker it begins asleep, and he sleeps within the game.

As for the bathroom, he is never seen using the bathroom, but why would he? There is bathrooms in the game, though.

Well, there's a lot of reasons link doesn't have a girlfriend, he cant talk properly and he does those grunts while fighting and nodding while being asked if he want this and that, he always drink potions,he always sleep, especially during the stories like in phantom hourglass where hes asleep during the story of the Wind Waker. he sure loves to sleep...

Well yeah he claims to have the triforce of courage yet he can't talk to girls. Then again, he can't talk at all anyway. Also I guess he doesn't have time for girls on his adventure but I always wanted to maybe like Zelda telling link she loves him at the end of skyward sword. It would really fit. It could also make a nice sequel where link is adventuring to save the girl he loves, not just his friend. Idk just thought that would be cool.
