I recently beat somebody in smash irl (Local) and I won about 12 times and lost 4 but that isn't the point anyways I won a bit and it was like for fun until the other person became all salty and was too serious and just Ledge camped and whine and even use items which im not 100% against but when the only item is a smash ball then im against it can anybody tell me why people get this mad over a game?

That's a good question! Whenever I beat my siblings all the time in Smash or other games like Mario Kart, they get all made and don't want to play anymore. Oh well, that's the price for being amazing at video games, I guess! Still, I don't get all salty when I lose at stuff like that...:rotfl:

It's because of the competitiveness of the game. The more you want to win something, the more frustrated you become when you don't win. That's what I believe, at least.

Not everyone properly manage to lose. As Starforce mentioned, the competitiveness of the game is to blame. Personally, when U get frustrated I know it's time to stop, and it happens quite rarely!

Hey lots of big smashers like to get salty like just quit in between the match and just leave the room and throw their control let on the floor. I think because everyone wants to be the best and don't want to lose. Everyone feels that way

Some people are just bad players but sore losers (or one or the other). Others just like to take the game seriously because they should've had control of their character but didn't (input error). And some people just like to pause the game when they lost because they know they lost and don't want to hear it to their face by the announcer.

Any competitive game can make a bad gamer salty and insulty. Also applies to people who say annoying stuff like, "You're cheating, you're spamming," even though if the winner was spamming, they'd have been easy to beat.

Smash is unlike any other fighting game. It's a game where people who suck at classic fighting games can wreck other people. So if you get beat in Smash you are going to be a little salty. Also, if you are a hard core smash bros player if you lose I don't think I want you and me to be in the same room. Lastly , if you lost because lag threw off your timing your gonna be mad.

TBh, is someone spams and wins this way, well he still wins. If the game allows to mash inputs, it's not cheating. It's your job as a gamer to find a way to counter spammers ^^'

I think it's natural to get salty and pretty much everybody gets salty in one way or another. Some people just act normal and there not mad but it's pretty hard not to get frustrated with yourself or with other people. On the other hand, some people bring saltiness to a whole new level! Screaming, rage quitting, cheating, or just being unfair!
