I know Shadow Sneak and King's Shield is kinda OP, and also high stats, but I have beaten 6 Aegislashes and lost to two. They were EV trained and with good movesets. If you predict when they are going to use King's Shield, it isn't all that hard. If your pokemon is a Special Sweeper, King's Shield isn't too much of a problem. Also, they can't use it consectively so that isn't good as well. Why is it banned???

Aegislash was banned for being overcentralizing, meaning it had a negative effect on the OU metagame. Aegislash also did not have a 100% counter as Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Hippowdon or any defensive switch in for that matter lost to the SubToxic variant, Bisharp and Heatran (Sp.Def) couldn't reliably check faster Life Orb variants as they would get outsped, Landorus couldn't switch in fearing Shadow Ball + Shadow Sneak and Mega Scizor and Conkeldurr have to win a bunch of 50/50s in order to deal with it. Aegislash had a great movepool, great offensive capabilities both on the physical and special spectrum and with its amazing typing could act as a spinblocker and pivot, Aegislash forced the entire metagame to revolve around it and limited teambuilding and overall was banned as most players agreed it would create a more healthier metagame.
