Why is Mario mad?

I noticed ever since Brawl, in Smash Bros, Mario is angry and never smiling. Usually in the Mario games, Mario is upbeat, positive, and joyous, or lack of personality, in my opinion. But why is it in Smash, Mario isn't in a good mood. Is it his desire to win? He doesn't want to fight because he doesn't want to harm his friends? Or is it because he is in a fighting game? Shy do you think Mario is suddenly mad in Smash Bros?
 
Simple. He knows Luigi is better. Maybe he takes smash more seriously than other games he's in, not sure. I think Sakurai just wants Mario to be more serious when fighting, it suits him. Although being happy while beating someone up is kind of scary (Villager).
 
Intimidation. It's standard agonistic territorial behaviour, it's perfect for a game which entirely revolves around staying on the stage and driving everyone else off. In short, Mario is no different from a mountain gorilla. :giggle:

They're happy to be 3rd party reps. Their own companies doesn't let them have fun like smash does @.@

i saw an interesting theorie about mario, he sees himselfe as the best and the only good one thats why luigi never gets the fame or the respect. he is mad because luigi is better, he can jump higer and is bettter in smash. there is a game (idk wich but it was a mario sports game) everytime when luigi gets 1st and mario 2nd, mario kicks luigi's leg.

Only Villager is creepy in that sense.

Here's what I think, he realizes that he is getting to old for the fighting games, he isn't as young as he used to be, given that his opponents are all younger than him like, Marth, Link, Roy, Shulk. Heck even the Villager is younger since he/she is us.

Must be because he isint rthe main character of the game lol. (Everyone is the main character) and Luigi is better xD. And he is a murderer. Like what that YouTube video explained. Also because he doesn't save peach and doesn't get a kiss lol

"Ever since Brawl", right ? Maybe he's mad because it's the first Smash game where "intruders" (non Nintendo characters) came in ? Or maybe he's like Melee fans and want competitive gameplay back :p

Well it sort of makes sense to be angry while beating someone up. At least he is not creepily smiling like villager.

Mario's mad because he's a cold-blooded killer and every main Nintendo character and 3rd party character is stealing his spotlight. Imagine if you were never "played with" in Smash. You would want your double Dr. Mario and Luigi and Wario be in Smash if you weren't used at all. Then again it may be because he's in a fighting game but yeah Lucas is angry in Smash 4 for some reason. Maybe because there's no sequels or remakes of the Mother/EB series or maybe he is getting revenge for having half of his family dead.
