Why is Sonic the Hedgehog the most hated character in Super Smash Bros. 4?

I bring to you the most hated character in Smash bros 4, here are some reasons why people hate Sonic the most

1. His speed is incredibly fast, so hitting him will just be that much harder.
2. The Spin Dash is waaaaay to easy to spam
3.Sonic is a hit-and-run character that contributes to being hard to hit him
4. The Side B combo does way to much damage

Its a good thing I use sonic :p
IF I missed anything please be sure to give me the reasons of why you hate sonic :)
 
Personally I never had any trouble against Sonic no matter how campy he is. All you need to do in the matchup is either apply pressure or play the patient game and react accordingly. He does lack kill options but you still need to be aware of grabs and back air. I've seen Sonic players abuse dair but it's a bad option against far away opponents. There is some skill to use him but there are just so many characters that are more fun to use, why bore yourself out with just using Sonic.

I know for one thing that Sonic I not boring, his speed us only one contributing factor to why he is fun. Obviously he is not going to be fun if you spam moves, but if you mix your moves up and make it tricky for your opponents then you'll have a great time with Sonic. Probably the main reason why people hate sonic is because of his speed, and his speed is probably what make Sonic so enjoyable. If you don't mind me asking, "What's your main?"

But there are a lot of fast characters like Little Mac and speed Shulk and customs Palutena. Personally I don't consider myself a main of any character but my most frequently used ones and Rosalina and Luma and Donkey Kong at the moment.
 
Many people hate Sonic users because they keep taking advantage of his speed. They also spam his only moveset, mostly doing the spin attack and the homing attack. However, if you use the right character against a Sonic, you shouldn't have a problem. If they spam, spam right back.
 
I think Sonic has some weak points. He fast but lacks a good projectile. (His up b isn't a useful one since it is predictable when used since the opponent can dodge it) so just create space so sonic can be at a bad position and attack. Also, he is a middleweight and has decent range. So just punish the heck out of him. Also if a Sonic player spans, just play the patient game, that's all.

Yup , Sonic in Super Smash Brothers is kinda annoying because of his pretty much insane speed , and the spin dash that is spammed a lot , however , you can counter right back with another character and if you can react your moves correctly , you can win against those who spam :p
 
I considered Sonic as one of my mains before,but I kind of lost some skills with him somewhat.Anyway,Sonic is an OK tier character from my perspective.His speed is the fastest in the game,as you would expect(yet again,he is the fastest thing alive :p),and he can wreck some skillful combos when used correctly.For me,he's alright to play as. :thumbsup:

Well sonic is good but lots of good sonic just spam his side specail. And he put lots of pressure into his opponents and it can get very and I mean very annoying. Ive hated Sonic since I played a very good sonic on ladder but I beat him with the certain places I put my projectiles it in certain places when he spammed side b he kept hitting my projectiles but hey at least i won thats all that matters

sonic is a crap character i have no problem with sonic i always kill him easy.

Everyone likes to play as Link in Super Smash Bros. I think he's the best character.

Let me answer me honestly why I now hate Sonic players, with this handy flowchart I've crafted through time by playing with many Sonic players (either through online features or local play at school). I present to you: "Sonic Players in a Nutshell - Smash 4 Edition":
Match Start (PICK ONE)
|-> Dash Attack (Run+A) -> Homing Ball attack (B) -> Up Air (Up+A when in the air) -> Dash Attack...
| |-> If enemy's in the air -> Try anything air-related (Up+B->UpAir follow-up...)
| | |-> Try to smash
| | | |-> Wins (or gets counter'd by a character that has one)
|-> Run through the stage, avoid combat as long as possible (3+ players? Wait for the them to increase their %s)
| |-> Time is running out
| | |-> Dash Attack -> Smash -> Homing Ball -> Mash your controller (or 3DS)
| | | |-> "I am win"
|-> Sonic's Side-B: The Smash Bros. Opera Edition: Now with more drama!

Here was my experience with most of the Sonic players I've met. Luckily enough, there are some that actually play well, and honestly, makes me want to rematch them. But, they're so rare... You'd have less trouble searching a needle in a haystack.

He's probably hated because he has lots of speed and decent air game, which can give him some opportunities for some insane combos (But you have to be like @Slayerpon Tatsu with Sonic to do those) he also has some good grabs which, again, can give you an opportunity for an insane combo. He also has a really good up b for recovery. The only thing he'd need is some kind of projectile.

Yes I'm like absolutely garbage with sonic. It's not like I know how to completely out play my opponent, no that would be silly. Why would I play the character I have the best results with? That's silly
