Why is Super Mario 3D World so demanding?

This game has been a lot of fun, just going to put that out there. But I think to 100% it takes a lot of effort @.@ After beating the game, you go to World Star. After beating World Star, you go to World Mushroom. After that you go to World Flower. Once you beat World Flower, you see the giant sign that says you have to do 3 things:

  • Collect all the Green Stars from every level up to World Flower
  • Collect all the Stamps from every level up to World Flower
  • Get the Golden Flag on every level up to World Flower
That sounds like a lot, but there's more. After doing all this, you go to World Crown, and there is when you see a giant thing which shows which characters have beaten every single level in the game. Yes. You have to replay EVERY LEVEL IN THE GAME WITH EVERY CHARACTER. So you basically have to replay all the levels 5 times (with Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, and Rosalina) which is not fun for the most part on levels like Boss Blitz in World Flower @-@. Not to mention after doing that you unlock the final level of the game, Champion Road. And this is no blow-off level. It requires a lot of skill to get through, and this too you have to beat 5 times for the 100%. Poor Toad. That, is everything you have to do to 100% the game, I'm still trying to unlock Champion Road at the moment, I still need to beat all the levels as Mario, Peach, and Rosalina. I've been at it for the past 4 months . Pray that I make it out alive.

Well, in my first run through, I was already collecting all green stars and getting the golden pole so..it wasn't that big of a deal to just go back and beat the levels with the other characters. In fact, it was actually more fun to just play rather than go collecting everything. So yeah, I mean there may be a lot of stuff to do to get 100%, but that's what makes the game more replayable. It worked on you, didn't it? :sneaky:

I think that all of these extra things that you do in the game counts towards to what makes the game more worth playing and more replayable . It is one of the most best Super Mario games lately so it should be very demanding . Putting effort to make 100% is very fun :p to most people I guess

If it were so easy to complete the game 100% , then it wouldn't be so challenging and fun and perhaps maybe some people might just finish the whole game in a matter of days

I think the more playable content and stuff to do in games, the better. And the more worth your money the said game is, I mean if it was a short game with absolutly nothing to do apart from go to point A to point B, would you spend all your money on it? I don't think so

Its a big pain in the butt. I hate world crown, it has the best levels but they are way too hard, especially the mystery box marathon. Its way too hard and if you want to fully 100 percent it, you have to work dang hard, at least another 150 hours worth to 100 percent it. Its a pain!

If Super Mario 3D World wasn't demanding, then the game would be way too short. It's good that the developers gave players an extra challenge in order to keep playing the game for a little while longer. Going back and 100%'ing levels wasn't as boring as I thought it would be after I beat the game. Of course, there were some difficulty roadblocks along the way, but it was still a rewarding experience. :D

I think it is so demanding because nintendo is trying to make their games harder. I hate going back to get stamps or stars too. Some people might just give up on the game because of how it is so demanding. But this does not stop me from getting mario games. I really wish that nintendo would stop this but I think that it is unlikely.

Well, here's what you do about completing the game 500%:

  1. Have four Wii controllers at your disposal
  2. Use these four controllers in gameplay alone, putting the other three in bubbles,or if you have friends, well, play with them
  3. Reach the goal pole with all of them at the correct time
And then, you only have to complete the game 200%,since you will be left with one character remaining to use in all levels.
About the after-game content,it is a thing in 3D Mario games to have new levels and missions to complete,so I'm sort of used to it now ever since 64 DS and the Galaxy games(Green Stars from Galaxy 2 though are something I didn't have a lot of fun doing on the process...)
The last level,Champion's Road,is just close to being as equally hard as Galaxy 2's Grandmaster Galaxy, but personaly,I think the 30 Green Star Mystery House from Crown World is harder than that level.I'm serious on this one. :panda:
It's the only level in the game I haven't completed yet as any character, but a challenge is a challenge, and sometimes, even if I don't like to fail in the same level repeatedly for a while,I appreciate when the game tries to be harder on its own,and it does add to the replay factor in the game,so this is something I like to play through every once in a while when the game does that. :)

When I got the game I was addicted and beat it 100% in 8/9 days without any extra controllers/players... I'd say it's worth it, especially mastering Champion's Road. Bragging rights!

I will pray for you my good friend i will pray! No but in all honesty i wish you good luck. Your gonna need it if you want to legitimately complete the game100% without the invincibility leaf or whatever its called.

I have to admit I really suck at this game because of the fact Im not even to world star yet and the levels are getting harder and harder. I have heard someone lost over 200 lives on champion road, and if it's that hard, I might quit. I barely have gotten any progress yet in the game around world 7, but It's very incredibly fun so far.

Dang I didn't know that there was more to offer in this game. I never even knew that there were more worlds after World Star. Talk about the post play campaign. Nintendo still does know how to make a game last for quite a while. But it makes you collect all stars, get the Golden Flags, and even collect all the stamps?! Sounds like Zelda.
