Why is there a Cameo of an SNES/Wii/Wii U in Pokemon in the players house?

So why do You think there is a Nintendo video game system in the Player's house? Personally, I think it is because Nintendo wanted it to be a fun easter egg.

shameless self-advertising I agree with you, I think hey just threw it in there for fun. It's i nice touch imo

It's just a nice pleasant surprise to see something from the real world int he Pokemon world. Not to mention, it gives a little bit of free advertising for Nintendo. I could see a person playing Pokemon, finding a Wii U, researching it, and then deciding to purchase it. It's not improbable or anything.

Don't forget Gamecube.
But yeah, advertisement is definitely a reason why a home console would be there.
