SSB Why is this game still talked about more than other 3DS titles?

It seems to me that people still can't stop talking about this game. I get that it's a known series but even the most popular game series stop getting talked about after a certain time period. On the whole the game really doesn't have that much appeal. The game has no plot, laggy online play, new characters and stages cost money, and the learning curve is almost impossible to get over.
Sure it has various mini games and a bunch of your favorite Nintendo characters but is that really worth noting? Tell me what you think.

If you're talking about people mentioning it in sb, then it's either because there's a new update that added in new content (which is always a good way to keep people talking about a game for a long time), or because they're playing it and talking to each other about the match sb. And the learning curve isn't really high, especially for smash4. It's fairly easy to get really good at the game. Besides, it isn't that, old, it's not even a full year old yet. Give it time, and maybe it will stop being talked about...probably not until smash 5 doe, at least not on a Nintendo forum XD

Who cares about the plot ? You're playing a game, not watching a movie. See how people like to play Monster Hunter too, even though the plot is "can you read the title ? You're a Monster Hunter", or Splatoon where the plot is "well, if you want to know the plot, go to the internet because we feel like you want to play, not be overwhelmed with info that will not help you while playing".

Laggy online play is only an issue if you want to make serious games, but if you just want to have fun, you can enable items, play on stupid stages with character you don't know using only your left hand, and then you the lag isn't the most important problem :p

The paid stages and characters aren't a problem for most people. See how they buy Amiibos ? That's more expensive than DLCs and it also ruins the portability of the 3DS. But people keep buying them so why would they not buy stages and characters ?

The learning curve... Start watching Melee/ProjectM videos then come back say that you can't learn Smash 4 with a straight face, without laughing at yourself :p

And most of all, it's a game that you can basically play anytime. This is a bit related to the "no plot" point by the way. But basically, when you have 20 minutes, you can boot Smash and do fun things. While if you were playing MH for example, you'd have to be bored for one hour, not 20 minutes, or you won't be able to finish a quest. And if everyone gets bored for 20 minutes once a day, you hear people talking about Smash all day everyday :p

^ Just about everything he said.

EDIT: or she, idk. Sorry. xD

It's seems like you're talking about Super Smash Bros. For 3DS, in which case, you're using the wrong prefix. And as @Hayleia said, it's a perfect game to play if you're bored or have time to waste. And does it really need to have a story to be a good game when you have a bunch of things to do? I'm sure they're are other 3DS titles that are good but Smash 3DS is just as enjoyable. And any game with online play can be laggy as well as have DLC. There is no reason for you to any blame these on SSBF3DS. As for learning curve, go watch a guide or view tips online. It is not that hard. Honestly, this post just seems biased.

Games like Smash don't have a real plot. People enjoy it and still talk about it to this day and will keep talking about it because of the many characters and many updates. It's one of the best brawling games out there and it keeps players coming back for more with out having to be dark and gore filled like Mortal Kombat or the Marvel vs DC versions.

Not to mention everyone gets to play it.

And plus many games try to do what Nintendo does but fails every time :sneaky:.
