This is a question that I ask, since, by judging how nostalgic I am, I'd like to see the good old Pokemons such as Silver, Gold, or even Crystal, in the eShop (Virtual Console, of course).

So, I now ask you the question. Would you like to see the Gameboy Pokemon games on the eShop (I mentioned G/S/C in the title, but it can be Blue/Yellow or Red, too !) ?

PS: If I see that there's enough "Yes" as answers, I'll start a petition, so, please take the time to answer the poll !

definitely i want to play pokemon red

Silver for me. As well as Yellow and Blue. If I can, finally, I would buy them all !

same here

Yes, so, I'll wait to see if some members here agree too. If that's the case, then, I'll start the petition !

I would prefer Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow. But Mr. Masuda already said theh won't be bring Pokémon games onto the eShop.

That lazy guy ! Seriously, they just have to copy the thing into their server, and he's so lazy ? Another reason for me to post my petition !

It's not laziness, they just don't want to. It takes time for them to make the games playable on the 3DS anyway. Would you rather him work on a new game, or an old one?

Nintendo said that petitions don't affect their decisions.

Then, why the Reggie for SSB4 affected them ? Nintendo can really be annoying sometimes...
It could have been a good thing... But now again, everybody will have to pay a flash cart again and use an emulator...

Reggie for Super Smash Bros. 4 didn't make them put him in the game, because he's not. If anything they might add character skins for Mii's, if Mii's will be playable characters.

Yes, sure. Well, guess that I'll have to find my cartridge and my Gameboy, or find an emulator and look up the net...

To be honest I would actually want all of the pokemon virtual console games to be on the eshop etc. Fire red , leaf green , Yellow , I would actually play it :p

That was more like Reggie decided it was something he really liked and waned them to at least consider. This is an exception, far from being a rule at all in all this lol

Aww.. Then, even if I make a petition, we're screwed to see them...

I'm sorry but I don't find interest in it. The generations get more in depth as they go and I just prefer in depth battles. However because the Pokemon TCG has had the same rules for a while (I don't follow the TCG but the only differences I've seen are new types) I think it would be more appropriate for the Pokemon TCG on the GBC to be on the VC. And it's Japan only sequel wouldn't hurt too.

Why ? The TCG didn't got the same success as (forgot to add them) Red/Green/Blue/Yellow or Gold/Silver/Crystal.
And more, why Nintendo would port the Japanese sequel ? They'll have to rewrite all the text/pictures contained inside, and believe me, translating a game isn't easy at all. Well, at least they could port the original TCG, but the chances are lower than seeing a Gen 1/2 game being ported to the 3DS's GBC VC.

Sure they were popular games but for that series Nintendo needs to teach people to move on (I'm sure whoever wanted to play them have them already) because they get more money that way. And it seems like a waste of time because you cannot convert Pokemon from those Gens to the recent Gens and idk if kids will be raged to find that out. And it would ultimately be better for any Pokemon VC game to have internet battles so it's more likely they'll never show up on the VC.

I'm sure Nintendo would find a way out to make any Pokémon GBC game to have Internet features. If emulators have internet features for multiplayer, why not the VC ? It's just a native emulator, after all.

As for the transfer, don't worry, they could also make a secondary application like PokéTransfer that would convert the data to the Gen 6 data type.

The Pokémon data structure contains two EV bytes for each of the five stats (HP, Attack, Defense, Speed and Special), starting at zero when caught and with a maximum EV of 65535 for each stat. When a Pokémon is defeated, its base stats are converted to effort points and then added to the EVs. For example, defeating a Mew grants 100 effort points to each EV. (Defeating 656 Mew, therefore, will give a Pokémon maximum EVs in each stat.)
This would mean in order to convert EVs the data of what Pokemon has been defeated would need to be put into account for EVs are put into certain stats from Gen 3 and onward. I don't think the game records Pokemon defeated but instead EVs which means that would be need to be added and more technical things for the conversion. And that must be hard on memory because with 240 Pokemon to keep track of what one of the 151 Pokemon they defeated and they'd want to get rid of the hexidecimal face Prof. Oak/Any pokemon/Missingno./ 125 Starmie things to prevent it from blowing up. Sometimes it's too much work and not worth it.

That can be made. I'm not sure if you understood what I meant, the VCPokéTransfer (let's call it by that name or VCPT), would just access the save data of the game. As for EV, well, if that's the price, just reset it upon transfer. And, I'm not sure if IVs existed at that time, but, randomizing them if they were non-existent would be enough, right ?

And if the VCPT should face the 'Game Destroyer' (aka Missigno the Bad Hexadecimal Guy), just removing it from the save and throwing an error would be enough.
