I didn't notice this until recently, but when I watched the Yoshi Switch game trailer, at the very end it says that it's powered by Unreal Engine. From what I think, usually Nintendo develop games with their own development kits, so I think probs this is Ninty's first console game to use other engines than their own.

What do you think of this development?

That's crazy I never knew!

Oh. That's the name of the engine.

I'm much less impressed now.

The unreal engine has been getting some VERY nice updates over the past year or so, so I can understand why it's a good choice for a triple-A game. It is kinda strange though how they've gone with an engine that's not of their own, but it's the route a lot of games are going actually.

It's great news for third party developers. The Unreal Engine is far easier for others to develop on. It's also a pretty good engine, which should entail some decent graphics.

If you use it right, unreal has been the main backbone of some of the most stunning graphics in games. Quite a few unreal games end up looking very, VERY pretty.

Not very surprising. Miyamoto has mentioned that Nintendo's own devs have dominated the Unreal Engine IIRC.

Using third party engines and modifying them for your own purposes is generally more cost and time efficient than making them from scratch x3

Oh... I don't think fans will be impressed anymore they might be uninterested once they start finding out also Yoshi hasn't been the most fun main game either so idk if people will buy it hopefully this dosen't relate to Kirby Switch too or to the Pokémon Switch in the future because the developers were saying that fans shouldn't be impressed or hyped that's what I heard maybe it won't be a great game who knows these were probably just rumors or so.:(

That is interesting. If it runs good this should be fine. Maybe it works better for the kind of game yoshi is going to be, with realistic 3d models you walk through. Maybe its easier to put together the environments this way.
