In Shin Megami Tensei IV, players can recruit demons to their team. There is a limit on how many demons can be recruited in the game, however, this limit can be increased. If I recall correctly, players can recruit up to six demons at the start of the game.

After unlocking the Burroughs App in the game, there is an app called Expand Stock. This app allows the player to add an additional slot where demons can be stored. The Expand Stock app is cheap, however, it gets a little more expensive each time the app is purchased. I can’t remember the app’s exact cost, but I do know that it’s less than 10 points at the beginning of the game. I think it starts off at 5 points, then increases to 6, then 7, etc.
What will happen if you recruit a demon and have no space?
If you have no empty slots left to store a demon that you successfully talked into joining your team in the game, they will just leave. If you purchased the app that lets demons talk its friends into joining your party and you have no space left, they’re still not going to join you.
There’s nothing like exchanging one demon for another. They’re going to leave for good if there is no room. Therefore, it’s always important to leave at least one slot empty at all times when you are exploring a new area and you know that you will encounter new faces.
