When I first entered my town, I saw apples on a couple of the trees. The folks in the town did not have to tell me to press the A button to knock down a couple of fruit from a tree – that was really obvious. So I did it and discovered a perfect apple. I noticed that the perfect apple seemed to be a rare fruit, so I decided to keep it instead of selling it for a handful of Bells.
Days after playing the game and picking a boatload of apples from the trees in my town, I have yet to run into another perfect apple. So, I decided to take a risk and plant the one that I kept in my in-game closet. It was well worth the risk if it resulted in me getting more perfect apples. After a couple of days, the tree grew and guess what it had. Perfect apples!
How To Get Perfect Fruit in Animal Crossing: New Leaf
There are two ways that you can get perfect fruit from your town. The first is to shake one of your native fruit trees and hope that you get lucky. Another way is to collect your town’s perfect native fruit and plant it. The tree should grow with perfect fruit.
Note: perfect fruits can only grow in towns where they are native fruits.

Fruit that were not listed above cannot be perfect.
Another method that you can take advantage of getting perfect fruit is Wi-Fi gameplay. Exchange friend codes with Animal Crossing: New Leaf players and ask them if they have perfect fruit to give away or trade. If you need perfect apples, message me on Twitter.
How to find out your Native Fruit?
The first fruit that you see on a tree in the game is your native fruit. It is possible to plant more fruit in your town, however, you can not change what your native fruit is unless you restart your game from the beginning (which I do not recommend).
Problems with planting Perfect Fruit
After picking perfect fruit several times from a tree (that was planted using a perfect fruit), the tree will die. Also, one of the perfect fruits will be rotten. No, you can’t sell the rotten fruit. Instead, you will have to pay a price to have it disposed. Just don’t pair it up with any items that you want to sell when you’re paying to dispose of it, because Reese (the pink sheep shop owner) will not pay you for the other items.
How to get more Bells for your Perfect Fruit
Your town’s perfect native fruits sell for a lot of Bells in your town, however, they’re worth a lot more in other players’ towns. I’m thinking it’s 5 times the price that the buyer might pay for in your town, if I recall correctly. It’s highly recommended to collect and sell perfect fruit in other towns to stack up on more Bells.
