The Mario & Luigi and Paper Mario series have something a crossover set for a December release in PAL regions, and now North American 3DS owners also have a release date to look forward to: January 22nd, 2016.
The game features real-Mario and Luigi teaming up with Paper Mario. Paper Mario has quite a few tricks up his sleeve: he can fit through narrow cracks and fold himself up to help his mates form a bridge or use him as a paper airplane to fly over gaps.
In addition, there’s a new element called Battle Cards in fights. These cards have various effects from restoring Mario and Co.’s health to lowering enemies’ experience. Players can use amiibo to generate character cards, which are more powerful than the standard Battle Cards. Six amiibo are compatible: Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Toad, Peach and Bowser.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam comes out in Europe (under the subtitle Paper Jam Bros.) on December 4th, 2015; Australia on December 10th and North America on January 22nd, 2016.
