After the Kickstarter failure of Cult Country (FPS survival horror game for the Nintendo 3DS that was announced a while back), the head of Renegade Kid, Jools Watsham, announced that they’re working on a new game for the Nintendo 3DS.
They will also release Moon Chronicles and Treasurenauts soon for the Nintendo 3DS, so it appears that they will still show support for the Nintendo handheld:
As part of our healing process after the KS failure, we're developing a new experimental 2D game for 3DS. It has pixels and stuff. No cults.
