Today I was browsing the Nintendo eShop to purchase a new 3DS game. After finding the game, I quickly tapped on its purchase button, soon to discover an error. Yes, I received an error message with the error code 005 5686. I remembered that I recently credited by eShop balance with an additional $120 US, so of course I was furious (this isn’t the first time and it probably wouldn’t be the last) – luckily I did not throw my 3DS off a cliff.

This error is not really one of the bad ones. To solve the problem, turn off your Nintendo 3DS (this step is very important). Turn it back on and reconnect to the Nintendo 3DS eShop. After, try purchasing a 3DS game and it should work.
