This fine print from the trailer is in doubt whether the game will be 2D or 3D. Some evidence shows the game will actually use the Pokémon X and Y features.
This means the 3D effect is limited like the VI generation game, when the 3D was almost only used on some cut scenes or in battles. It looks like they won’t polish the graphical engine for this game.
