Shin Megami Tensei IV is now available to purchase in Japan as of today, May 23, 2013. In addition, the game launched with both free and paid downloadable content (DLC) which is available from the eShop. Some of the freebies are the silver spectacles, the honest person’s barrette, and Lucifer’s fighting spirit (red and blue eyes).

Samurai costumes are also available to download for the game. One of these samurai costumers that was designed by Shin Megami Tensei lead Masayuki Doi is now available at a discounted price of 100 yen (that’s about $1 US), and increases to 200 yen by June 10, 2013.
In addition to all of the above, Atlus has released a 10 minute gameplay preview of Shin Megami Tensei IV, showing its technical aspects. Don’t get the idea that this video is a trailer, because it’s not.

The game will be available in North America on July 16, 2013, while its European release is sometime between June 21, 2013, and September 21, 2013.
