Here is a little summary of all the stuff that was announced in the video, so if you’re quite lazy reading, this list is for you:
Some characters hidden in the 3DS version like Ganondorf and Ness will be unlocked from the start in the Wii U version.
It will be 1080p native!
The maximum number of characters will be 8 instead of 4!
Stages are larger, mostly for the 8-player smash mode.
There are Danger Zones: some stages will have lava patches that will hurt you. If you have 100% of damage, they will KO you instead.
One stage based on Donkey Kong Country Returns will have two planes at once.
There will be more stages than the 3DS version.
There will be a Miiverse stage that will show Miiverse posts for each Smash player. (Looks like after an update).
Palutena’s commentary when playing as Pit.
There will be commentary with Star Fox characters as well (Fox and Falco).
Ridley will appear on a stage, and will help you if you’re strong.
Metal Face also appearing on Xenoblade Chronicles’ stage Gaur Plains.
There will be Coin Battles.
Also the classic Stock and Time modes.
Stamina Battles are also included where you lose when your HP hits zero.
You can change rules and item frequency in this version.
You can set the music frequency for stages and the menu.
Also more music and composers than the 3DS version. Also music from the handheld version is included.
You can collect CDs in the game to get more tracks.
They are more challenges than the 3DS version.
Classic Mode is changed, being based on how well you played.
Instead of a pic, clearing the Classic Mode will get you an individual character movie.
All-Star Mode will be in reverse-chronological order.
There’s a board mode called Smash Tour.
There’s a Target Blast mini-game being somehow like Angry Birds.
A new Special Orders mode featuring unique challenges from both Master Hand and Crazy Hand.
Master Fortress is a new boss battle where it’s needed to beat to Master Code.
A lots of playable controllers: Wii U Gamepad, Wii Remote, Wii Remote with Nunchuk, Classic Controller, Classic Controller Pro, Gamecube Controller and also the Nintendo 3DS (if you own the handheld version).
Custom characters can be moved from your 3DS to your Wii U.
More trophies than ever before, mostly from console games.
Final Smash trophies can be won by surviving All-Star mode with each character.
Trophies can also be won in multiplayer Trophy Rush.
A Trophy Box to show off all the trophies.
There’s a photo studio with lots of options.
A mode called Masterpieces will include a lot of Virtual Console demos.
Amiibo characters can level up and their stats can be boosted.
The Wii LAN adapter works with the Wii U.
Notifications on the main menu.
There is a Tournament mode, also Nintendo will make ones.
The GamePad will mirror the TV screen, also show additional information.
You can take screenshots and draw on them.
Voice chat between matches.
Stage builders, being able to create with the Gamepad.
You will be also able to share stages (after an update).
There will be a movie player featuring all the trailers!
