A/N: Okay so this is a new plot-bunny that has been bouncing around in my head for days. I'm just going to roll with this and see how it works out.

Chapter 1 - Lashing out

A stunned silence fell throughout the hall as Dumbledore read out the name on the unexpected fourth slip of paper from the goblet. "Harry Potter." he said, his eyes losing their normal twinkle as a frown appeared on his face. The boy's head turned at the sound of his name and he stared at the headmaster in shock. Everyone else, of course, was shouting about he must have slipped his name in somehow and asking how he did it. He paid them no attention as a wave of numbness took over his body and mind.

Somehow he wasn't really surprised by any of this. Of course this would happen. He should have expected it really. This year had been going a little too well. That should have been the first clue but no. He had thought, naively perhaps, that this year would be the one. The one where he could just be somewhat normal even with all the fame and what not.

The numbness was swept away to be replaced by bitterness and anger as Hermione pushed him to stand. "There is no way to get out of this is there?" he asked, his voice quiet and bitter. The crowd went silent the minute he opened his mouth, but he could still feel the weight of their accusing stares. The headmaster silently shook his head and Harry closed his eyes as he resigned himself to being a pawn to someone else's plans yet again.

He didn't have to turn around to know the Hufflepuffs were glaring at him for stealing their champion's glory, the Slytherins were muttering their usual snide comments, Ravenclaws were whispering back and forth about the whole thing amongst themselves, and Gryffindors had as usual decided he must have done the thing and therefore must be shunned. In his mind's eye he could already see the foreign students glaring and hissing muttered comments about the unfairness of Hogwarts having two champions. His hands clenched tight as he realized this was the universe's way of showing him that he was naive to think he would ever have a normal school year.

Anger and bitterness at the unfairness of it all swirled around in his mind until he couldn't take it anymore! His eyes snapped open as his hand slid into his pocket to grab his wand. "I swear on my magic that I did not enter this tournament willingly and whoever did enter my name will pay dearly!" Harry called out as he held his wand aloft. Everyone gaped at him as a ball of light exploded from his wand and hovered in the air before dissipating.

A thought hit him and a small smile appeared as he slipped his wand back into his pocket. "Since I have been entered unwillingly I will not be representing Hogwarts. Besides she already has a champion: Cedric Diggory." Harry declared before turning to the Goblet. He stared at the artifact thoughtfully before deciding to take a gamble. "In for a penny, in for a pound after all..." he thought wryly as he moved to stand directly in front of the Goblet. "Did the person who entered my name choose a school for me already?" he asked the ancient artifact.

After a couple of seconds the Goblet flared to life and a piece of parchment shot out to be caught by Harry. "The person who entered your name did not write down which school you are championing. All they did was treat the parchment with a special potion that will force my magic into calling you as a champion regardless of whether the school has a champion already." he read.

Harry hummed thoughtfully as he glanced up at the ceiling. "I can't get out of this...so why not screw everything up and have a little fun." he mused to himself as a devious smile spread across his face causing most of the teachers to shiver as they remembered that exact same smile crossing James Potter's face when he was up to mischief. "Is there any way I can choose another school to represent?" he asked the Goblet.

Three minutes passed before another piece of paper shot out. "After a bit of deliberation I have decided I can allow this considering the circumstances. I will allow you to choose a place to represent. However, this place must have at least one person with magic living there. When you have decided, place your hands around me and picture the place in your mind." he read, this time to himself only.

The boy began pacing back and forth in front of the Goblet as he tried to think of somewhere that fit the Goblet's requirements. "I don't know enough about the magical world to select another school or town...besides I'm looking for chaos. I doubt I can find that in the real world...so why not choose a fictional place? After all the worst that can happen is the Goblet rejecting the place..." he thought before trying to decide on a fictional town that would fit what he and the Goblet wanted.

Then he had his lightbulb moment. Over the summer he had sneaked away to the library and read a series that would fit the bill perfectly. It had chaos, fun, and, most importantly, people who had a power that could pass as magic. The devious smile grew bigger as he walked over to the Goblet and wrapped his hands around it. His eyes slid shut as he pictured everything he could remember about the town and the people living inside of it.

A small chuckle filled Harry's mind and he nearly flinched as he realized that like the sorting hat, the Goblet could read his mind. "Lucky for you, this place actually exists. Otherwise I would be forced to reject your decision. Unfortunately summoning representatives from this place will leave me almost completely out of magic. So I will leave it to you to tell them my decision and the name of the town. After I have recovered from this I would like to speak with you again, little mage," it whispered to him.

Harry was of course surprised to discover his chosen place was real. Because of that it took him a couple of seconds to process the Goblet's wish before signalling he would not mind that. He sensed that if the artifact could smile it would be right then. "Good. Now release me and step back." it whispered in his mind. Harry respectfully did as he was told and watched as the Goblet's flames turned an amethyst color. Then he noticed that all the heads of each school were crowded around him and frowning in a very disapproving manner.

"I bet their faces are going to end up stuck like that by the end of the year." he thought amused as he made sure his face was perfectly blank. "The Goblet accepted the place I have chosen and is gathering the representatives at this moment." Harry told them as he tucked his hands into his pockets.

"Where exactly is this place and who will the representatives be?" Dumbledore asked as his frown grew even more pronounced. Madam Maxime wasn't frowning so much as glaring at him by now. And as for Karkarov? He was doing his best to look intimidating but

The boy took a moment to word his answer appropriately as he felt the tension escalating the more time he took to answer the questions. "I'm not sure who exactly will be arriving since it's the Goblet's decision for the representatives. As for the place...I am championing a town called Namimori, Japan." he announced as he met Dumbledore's gaze.
