New to Ark Survival Evolved and don't know what to do? No worries I got you covered. Be forwarned I'm using Xbox Controls but if you are using a different version it's the equivalent.
The Start:
You first need basic supplies like wood, thatch, fiber, and stone. You can pick up Rocks off the ground using whatever is equivalent to The Xbox "Y" button. Fiber can be obtained by going to the bush and also pressing "Y". You will also get berries which I'll get into a bit later. For wood and thatch simply go up to a tree and start punching it away.
Careful you will lose health since you are not using an Axe. It will replenish over time. Now with the wood Thatch and stone go into your inventory using "B" on Xbox and hit "RB" to go into the crafting menu and craft The Pickaxe.
Enter the Axe!:
Now with that Pickaxe you can mine bigger Rocks for Flint Metal and Stone. You'll need Flint to craft an Axe.
Skill Points and Engrams
By this point you should have gotten a level or two. Each Level you get a Skill Point as well as Engram points more about that in a bit. With Your skill point you can increase one of your stats permanently however you can't redo your choice so think carefully. Same goes for the Engram Points. I recommend getting the Spear then start working for Thatch Foundations, Thatch Walls, Thatch Doorframe, Thatch Door, as well as That Roof Engrams as it will serve as youe basic Housing. Also get the Storage Box Engram for basic Storage.
Ungh I'm Hungry How do I hunt?:
Now we are going to need food I would hunt for Dodo Birds to start off since they are friendly shall we say USE THE PICKAXE FOR MORE MEAT. You will gain more meat from using your Pickaxe to get the meat off your dead Bird or Dinosaur. Then put the meat in your recently crafted Campfire along with Either Wood or Thatch abd light it to start cooking it.
I wanna build a Mansion!
Once you have your thatch Simply of House wares it's time to start building shelter. Thatch Foundations act as your floor so craft as many as You want your house to be. Everything else should be self explanatory. You can build a Mansion but you better have a lot of Resources.
