As many of of you know (and some of you have backed,) Yooka-Laylee is the collect-athon revival scheduled for the first quarter of 2017. Having the crew from the original Banjo-Kazooie, Perfect Dark, and Jet Force Gemini making it, it will almost certainly be what every 90's kid (and teenagers with nothing better to do you with his time than play old-school games) have been hoping for. As such, I wanted to review a more obscure game in the pool of RareWare N64 games, (that I don't think I could make a full video about), and by that I mean, Blast Corps.
Blast Corps is an N64 exclusive of which the main objective is to make stuff explode. It offers a very unique method of play as well as a large variety of vehicles in each mission.
The missions themselves are are also varied, and never see to repeating. Most missions involve destroying blockages such as building, rough terrains, and an assortment of other road blockages from getting in the way of a semi full of very delicate... I actually don't know. What I do know however, is if that one thing taps it in the slightest possible way, it explodes killing everyone and everything probably the whole planet.
As I previously said, the variety of vehicles is also a great addition. Some levels have some some vehicles hidden (such as the mech-suit or sports-car) which will usually be more effective in destruction. As well as each vehicles having different strengths and weaknesses in control, such as speed, damage etc.
There are three or four different types of levels (although most involve transporting the semi safely) such as races, destroying all building in the area, and rescuing survivors.
altogether, Blast Corps is an original ad fun games with variety, a great control scheme, and let's not forgot the best part of the game; explosions.
Thats all for my review, but if you liked it, let me know and I might make a month of RareWare games on my channel,
Thanks for reading!
