Culture Zone: Star Trek (STNG)'s "Illuminati"

Q is the Illuminati of the Star Trek universe who plays a villain with an insane amount of power. This series is thought provoking as it is even if it may appear strange and old. I think there should be more characters like Q who are intelligent, powerful, as well as almost human. I cannot show you the first episode of the series because I saw it on Netflix but if you manage to find it I suggest you should at least see the first episode.
[Now obvious spoilers but I think you'd forget them if you managed to watch the whole series and seasons]
Here's his character:
These are lessons someone in the comments pointed out and the title of the episode is mentioned before the quote.
1) Encounter At Far Point - You need to grow up and learn to solve problems with your mind instead of violence.
2) Hide & Q - you must learn to make decision on your own because a leader may not always be available.
3) Q Who - Prepare for your future cause you cant assume you know the out come to every event.
4) Deja Q - You need to figure out the answer on your own and not rely on someone who has the answer for you.
5) Qpid - If you truly love someone you would put your own life on the line for that person.
6) True Q - with absolute power comes the learning of absolute reasonability
7) Tapestry - Your past is who made you who you are today don't be dissatisfied with aspects of your past.
8) All Good Things - Sometimes to accomplish something you have to think outside of the box.

It makes you wonder why people have made up these ideas if people are only going to forget them over time. I think they are great for entertainment as well as thought but who is willing to take things that seriously?

What do you think?

Well, I wouldn't describe Q as Star Trek's "Illuminati", but rather as a god of mischief. Secondly, in the large Star Trek fan base (that I am part of), many are inspired by the series and try to take in to consideration the moral of stories within. Sure, some people may forget them, but often people re-watch episodes due the unique stories.
I didn't read it all, because Star Trek is still on my watchlist. ;) It did get me interested though!
