JENOVA spoke to Sephiroth telepathically about the current situation of the war. She told him about the dangerous devices SAKUI used on Kadaj and Kaibu and the current intel concerning their effects on them. Both JENOVA and Sephiroth were working together to keep eyes out for SAKUI, who was still on the loose in the kingdom. JENOVA now has the entire kingdom on lockdown to protect her children from the dangerous enemy. Being alerted to what was perceived as an attempted infiltration on the way, Yazoo remained outside JENOVA Foundation entrance to prevent chaos spreading into JENOVA's intelligence center.
Chapter 19: The Fury
(This section will focus on Yazoo as the speaker) After receiving an order from Mother, i made haste to JENOVA Foundation to keep the enemy from getting inside. However, when i arrived, there was nothing there. I wondered if this was a setup by the enemy. Regardless, i had my weapon out and kept my eyes peeled for a potential ambush; i didn't lower my gunblade at all. I was not going to risk the enemy hacking into the security system inside and hurting my son who had nothing to do with any of this. Though it was very unlikely he'd succeed, i knew the golden rule during war was to be smart and don't take chances: never leave an open door for your enemy. The area was very quiet. I didn't like that. Out of nowhere, what sounded like an angry wolf lunged at me from behind and knocked me to the ground. I dropped my weapon and was caught off guard. I opened my eyes and saw a man that fit my son's description: SAKUI. He didn't speak, but gave me a devious smile followed by growling and sticky saliva drooling from his mouth. He was still on top of me. I shouted "Get off, you mutt!" I punched his face as hard as i could, and he growled defiantly as he was swept away. Quickly retrieving my weapon, i stood back up and pointed it at him. Of course, he quickly recovered from the hit as well. Keeping him at gunpoint, i angrily said "What do you want? Why do you hate Mother so much?" He laughed, then answered "What do i want? I want your mommy's head! Why else would i be here?" I was furious now. I fired numerous shots at him, but he dodged all of them. He bolted red veins from his back and hurled them towards me, but i fired shots and they were destroyed. I continued "That doesn't answer my question, you dunce! Why do hate Mother so much?! Answer me!" He laughed again, then answered "I hate her.... because she's the only thing strong enough to fend me off! If i dont kill her, i cant have the cosmos all to myself!" Firing more shots, i continued "Thats not a real reason to hurt her! Who do you think you are?" He seemed angry now but kept silent. I started "Did you even tell me the truth?" Angry, he answered "Why does it matter if i lied or not?! She's trying to kill me anyway, so what difference does it make?" I saw blood fall from his crimson eyes and he began growling again. I had a hunch this was what it looked like when he cried. Stopping my gunfire, i lowered my weapon and said "Because if you aren't truthful.... then nobody knows what's wrong. If you just cover everything up, it only hurts more and worsens the wound." SAKUI also seized attacking after i spoke. I saw the strangest look in his eyes, like he was surprised or emotional in a mysterious way. I continued "My Little Sister taught me that, when she lead our gang and helped defeat Shinra.... she had everything needed to keep me, Loz, and even Brother Sulbio together. She is a true hero, and even a good leader." SAKUI kept his stare on me as though he felt hopeful, but he didn't move. After a moment of silence, i asked "SAKUI.... what's the real reason you don't like Mother?" His expression turned sad, and he started "It all started thousands of years ago, deep in the cosmos.... before any war started between either side. I traveled the universe claiming planet by planet, followed by galaxies over time; no different than JENOVA always did. I had a large empire across the universe, but i was missing something... i had an empty hole i wanted to fill. What i sought was... love. I did much of my conquest alongside JENBU, and my order to him was to sail the current planet we claimed across the universe and find me a woman i could share a bond with; someone who i could enjoy conquering the universe side by side. More time passed since he departed from our base, which turned into years before long. Despite the excess of time that flew by, i waited patiently atop a crimson planet for the delivery of my ideal woman, not blinking for even a second. During this passing time, i hadnt heard hide nor hair from Commander JENBU. Soon, i chose to turn on my surveillance system to make sure nothing went wrong. After flipping through several of the cameras, i found where he was: atop one of our bases with JENOVA, holding hands with her. Likewise, i cut through a time-space to reach them quickly. However, when i was there, they were gazing sweetly at each other. I couldn't take my eyes off of her; she was too beautiful for me to ignore. I interrupted by reminding JENBU that this was a mission on my behalf, and he gave me an angry stare. Even though he was angry, i kept my eyes on JENOVA, who took notice to me and seemed curious. She smiled at me and her eyes were teary; i knew she adored me already. I wanted to smile back, but before i could...." SAKUI began crying. I knew he was really hurt even though he wasnt done. I asked "What happened?" SAKUI sniffled, then continued "He drew his katana and knocked me off the roof... JENOVA tried to stop him, asking what he was doing, and he said...." I listened in silence. SAKUI's sobbing grew heavy. He continued "He said to her that... he was trying to protect her from me..!" He fell to his knees and was bursting with sadness. I almost felt bad for him. I barely made out "What..? Are you saying that.... Father JENBU... lied?" He kept sobbing but didn't respond. I waited, expecting him to say more. After several minutes, he began "Thats when it all started; we fought each other to the death. We clashed for so long.... he defeated my remaining comrades, and all that was left was us. We both got tired, and JENOVA escaped so she wouldn't be hurt. And then, JENBU used that deadly move i taught him during our travels--the Divine Seal... and we were both incapacitated forever, sacrificed and practically nothing..! I... I can't take it anymore!" I couldn't believe what i just learned. I had to call Mother immediately about this. Before i did, i walked towards him and kneeled down to him. I started "SAKUI, listen to me. I can see you're in a lot of pain from all of this, but if you kill Mother, that won't solve anything. If you kill her, that will make it worse." He sat up and his sobbing slowed. I continued "I'll tell Mother everything, New Brother." His tears stopped immediately and he glanced at me. He started "Brother..? You mean..?" I smiled at him and nodded, then said "As Mother's child, and part of the Divine Guard, its my duty to report things like this and clean up this mess. I will do just that." He smiled, then said "But JENBU is also out there... how will we defeat him? He knows all of my abilities! He is powerful enough to destroy the whole kingdom!" I stood up, helping SAKUI to his feet. I turned firm, then said "I don't know, but we have to try. If JENBU discovers Mother knows this, he definitely won't play nice. Regardless, we will figure something out. We have to act fast." I stepped away from him, then called out to Mother and said "Mother, i have an emergency report. You're not going to believe what i just learned." She reacted, then said "What did you find out, my son?" I quickly replied "JENBU is the cause of all this chaos, Mother. I can explain everything." I heard her gasp and sensed her feeling sad. I knew she was awaiting my explanation but was stuck in a deep, sad silence. I explained everything SAKUI to her. I told her one thing at a time, and as i continued i could hear her crying. Mother felt betrayed and hurt beyond words and i could feel it. When i finished, she forced her tears aside and said "I'll tell the rest of the guard to go after JENBU.... except Sephiroth." Surprised, i said "What?!" She continued "I cant tell Sephiroth because JENBU is right beside him in the kingdom's skies. JENBU will know he's caught if i do." I asked "How can we trick him or set him up then?" Mother paused in silence, then said "I know what to do." I could feel Mother's anger and determination like it was right inside of me. Suddenly, an image of her face appeared in the sky, and her eye was hot with fury. Before long, the ground began to shake which quickly became an earthquake. I started "This is bad..." Without thinking, i used Mother's materia and grabbed SAKUI before flying off the ground. As i expected, the ground turned a faint, molten hot red like brimstone. It vanished and the earthquake seized, but i knew that was bad sign. Letting SAKUI go and returning to the ground, i sighed in relief. SAKUI seemed frightened and said "What just happened?!" I felt tears fall from my eyes and said "Mother is very angry.... if her fury gets at its worst, the entire Planet will be a burning pit: just like what you saw just now. Fortunately it faded, but we have to help Mother calm down or everyone dies. If she doesn't control her rage, her lifestream will engage self-destruct in reaction to her anger.... and thats when this planet will be nothing but fire and brimstone." Things were getting even worse now. I didn't know what to do. I had no idea how we could calm her down. But with what just happened, there was no choice but to find a way.
