Pokeumans: Chapter 13

Chapter 13

As the Machamp was cutting away the walls, and as the rest of the group took care of oncoming Pokextinction grunts, the group was getting deeper into the belly of the beast. Andy noticed that as they were getting closer to the place Jirachi was held captive, the less grunts where appearing, but the grunts in the inner circles seem to be more experienced as they got closer to the center. They had nearly lost a few members, but they stuck together for the most part.

"Xander, I couldn't help but notice that some grunts are firing green lasers. What is the purpose of that?"

"Oh, I haven't told you? Yeah, they've got lasers. Green will paralyze whatever part it touched, and red will instantly kill you."

"I guess that's why everyone was firing lasers at us. I thought they just weren't awake yet."

They kept going in and defeating grunts until the Machamp suddenly stopped.

"Oh no! The walls here seem to be unbreakable! Sorry, guys."

The Machamp was correct. No move made by any of them could penetrate the shell. Andy check the Aura around him and found that the Jirachi was just one more room away!

While everyone was focused on trying to break into the wall, Andy precariously took a look around. As he circled around, he found a door with a keypad and card slot in it. Andy dug around in his backpack and took out the ID that the worker upstairs had. He slid it in, and the keypad turned on. He tried the google number, 379009, and it worked.

The door slid open, and he found a Jirachi strapped to a bench that looked like something evil scientists would strap their victims in. There weren't any scientists or anything there. The rest of the team followed inside.

Andy came over to the Jirachi. He could tell it was really hurt. It barely had the strength to open it eyes.

"H...Hello? Who...who are you?"

"It's me, Andy! We talked a little bit in the dream, remember?"

"Ah...yes...I remember...now...oh, Andy...you came a few...few minutes too late."

"What?! What do you mean?!"

"They...ran away with a bit of the...cosmic energy...they didn't take it all, but...but they've created something...horrible and ugly."

Andy could feel the fear surrounding the poor Jirachi. Whatever this thing was really intimidated Jirachi.

"Why couldn't you just teleport away? You can do that, right?"

"Oh...I wish...but Poke...Pokextinction bases work...like Pokeuman bases...no one can teleport in from out...and vise versa."

"Well, we'll get you out of here. Just hang tight," Andy said as he unbuckled the Jirachi. "We can all go to a safe place."

"Thank...Thank you. I'm feeling so sleepy...oh..." Jirachi cuddled up in its golden ribbons and fell asleep. Andy held it like a little baby.

"Alright, that's one problem down. Now, we just need to escape." Xander started to pat Troy. "Troy, can you come with me? I need you to teleport to this bases garage."

"Yes, sir!" Troy turned to the rest of the group. "See ya later!" He grabbed Xander, and in an instant they teleported away. However, one of them dropped a strange, glowing capsule. It stuck to the floor, and couldn't be picked up.

"Okay, guys." Andy turned to the rest of the group. "We should probably start heading towards lower ground so we can-"

"Ah, shut up." A Weavile spoke up with its arms crossed. "You're only a Trainee. You shouldn't even be on this mission!"

"Sorry, what is your name?"

"Josh. Star Infiltrator, best of the best. I've been on more missions than the days you were even in the base. If anyone but Xander knows the loops, it's me."

"Okay, hi Josh my name is Andy, but I wasn't trying to lead or anything, I was trying to-"

"Look, I get it, you're Xander's favorite, gives you the special treatment, yada yada. Look, why are you even on this mission?"

"It's probably because I'm more useful than you. What have you done to help the team? Nothing." The Weavile had a hard time coming up with a response, and everyone else was silent. "Now, I was not trying to lead, as I was stating before, I was trying to suggest a movement. My suggestion is that we go to lower lever on this base because most garages are located at the bottom of a facility." Everyone agreed, and set out for the quest.

They found sealed stairs and doorways that took them lower. Luckily, most securities were handled with the ID Andy possessed, and some required a more aggressive approach, which was handled by the Machamp.

They had finally made it to the lowest floor, and found a large, circular area. As they made it to the center, many grunts lined up and each had Lasers guns. Andy could see that they were all set to green and was directed towards their heads. Before the first laser was fired, a Pokextinction truck came and sent them flying. The door opened to reveal that Xander was the driver of the rogue car.

"Hey! Need a lift?" The entire team piled into the car, and there was a surprising amount of room left for all that Pokemon.

The car started and sped down a long tunnel, with a little speck of light at the end.

As they were driving, Andy thought he had heard a roar. Then he heard some wings flapping. His heart was beating fast, and he looked out the window from behind. He could see s large shape that looked almost like Ridley from Metriod. Andy started to look at it a bit more carefully, and his insides filled with dread.

Holy cow, that IS Ridley!

He turned and knocked Xander on the head. "Hey! We've got company!"

Xander looked in the rear-view mirror. "Woah! Someone is a Metroid fan in these parts!" At that, the rest of the team looked and saw him, too. Some began to panic, some began to cry, and some began to pray. Josh just started digging around in the back for anything he could use.

"Xander, what should we do?"

"We need to get out of here! I put a bomb down when me and Troy teleported. We need to leave before that things explodes, or we'll all go down together!"

The van suddenly jerked, and got some air for a moment before landing.

"He's firing fire at us, sir!"

"I know! Andy! Troy! I'll need you two to climb on top and take care of him!" Andy began to doubt his plan a bit, but after hearing Ridley roar again, they quickly went up to the roof.

Andy and Tory had to be careful not to knock each other off, as this was moving at really fast speeds.

Troy used Psycho Cut, and Andy launched some Aura Spheres. They gave all they could into it, but it didn't seem to do much.

"Eat missile, freak!" Josh yelled as he took out a rocket launcher. He fired, but it was a dud. It bounced uselessly against the tunnel as it quickly disappeared from view.

"Good try, though!"

"Shut up, newb!" Josh yelled as he disappeared into the truck.

Andy knew that in order for real damage to be done, they would have to jump off the truck and try to score a hit.

But before anything could be done, Ridley grabbed the truck, and started grinding it against the wall. Andy used a Blaze Kick while Troy used Close Combat. Ridley was soon knocked off. Half the truck was gone, therefore cutting down their fighting space.

They continued their bombardment of attacks, and they seemed to be doing more damage. Ridley suddenly lunged forwards and scratched Andy across the face, knocking him over the un-grinded side of the van. He was hanging on for dear life as Ridley grabbed the van and was about to do another grinding on Andy's side. Troy quickly helped him up, and they knocked Ridley off again.

"Andy!" Troy yelled. "We may not have enough time to knock him around like this anymore! We need to finish him now!"

Andy agreed. "I have an idea! Just get Psycho Cut ready and target my move!" Andy knelt down an focused on Dragon Pulse. When he felt ready, he unleashed it, and Troy's Psycho Cut was sucked into it like sharp knives in a tornado. The attack had that similar effect, as Ridley was hit with not just a Dragon Pulse, but with a Psycho Cut violently swinging around, hitting him again and again and again, until he finally dropped dead on the ground.

"Andy! Troy! Get in here quickly!" They did so, and they drove out at the base of the mountain, just as they heard an explosion go off.

When they were at a safe distance away, they all got out of the car. Xander placed a boulder on the gas of the truck, and let it go. It drove off the road and into the lake.

"Phew! That was close!" Xander exclaimed. "Guys, put on your humanizing rings, and lets all go home!"
