Random Rant #21

Whoa! Whoa! Put down the torches and pitchforks! Don't get me wrong, I love anime and it's one of my favorites hobbies. I'm only hurting it because I love it so here's my frustrations.

1. Racial diversity:

DISCLAIMER: Do NOT take this as racism.

I noticed most of the time in anime, it's mostly either Asian or white people. But I never see any black or Spanish people. I'm not making fun of them, I actually have good Spanish and black friends. But if the setting is Japan, I understand because not a lot of Spanish and black people live in Japan. But even in fictional anime, none are to be found. Even when they are represented, its usually very demeaning of that race. I understand that the author or creator never got to spend time with other races but I just wish for racial equality in the future.

2. The English Dub AND SUB

Another DISCLAIMER: This only applies to some; not all anime

Yeah I said it, sometimes the original Japanese dub is bad in some cases. Here me out. You're a guy or girl in your twenties. And there's a girl charging at you, squealing. But her yell is so obnoxious! I'd understand if they're little kids, but they're full grown adults. At least its not as annoying in the English dub because they sound more like their age.

3. ENOUGH of the FANSERVICE

Yes, in anime, I know there's these moments when the writers want to please the fans. So they'll throw in a butt or breast angle. I get it. Me, I don't care. I also know why because Japan is a country where they take their jobs very seriously and most of the youth believe they have no time to marry, so that's the closest thing they'll get. But the problem is, why do you have to do this to young girls under the age of 18? I just find this very lewd and wrong. And whenever this happens, I think in my head: "Did the author just forgot this girl is underage?!" This might turn off young girls because they're being portrayed this way. And it also might scare them off.

These are just my complaints on anime. Do I hate anime? No. I also have minor clichès that I don't care for but not to the point of hating such as falling down, the nom noms, and weird hair choices. I still like anime but I just wish the anime industry will get rid of these in the future.

I feel as though you expressed your points, but the problem is some of these are just normal parts of japanese culture
