The best games of 2014

The best games of 2014

What better way to truly show you what games were this years greatest then by waiting until the last minute: New Years Eve

Anyway, I'm going to show you my picks for 2014's best in the gaming industry!
Before I start please note: I haven't played a lot of games so some games that are good might not be here because I haven't played them.

This is in no particular order, butLet's start!:

1: Hearthstone

Hearthstone is a easy pick for this list. It's simple system of gameplay shows how anyone can play this game but few can master it.
As you play, you summon forth minions and cast spells to kill the other players hero before they do so to yours. Attacking which person on the field with quick thinking and strategy show who's the better player on the field.
This card game is an instant favorite for lots of people, and even if you don't play it 24/7, ya gotta admit it's pretty darn fun.

2. Watch Dogs

Watch Dogs, love it or hate it but this game is pretty darn awesome. Your Adien Pierce, a hacker who can get into Chicago's network, CToS, and take control over the city. Change the traffic lights or blow up a street with the pipe lines, it's all in your control. Use your power to find the killer of your Niece, Leena. This awesome story with the clever gameplay makes this game worth the pick up.

3. Bravely Default

In my opinion, there are few games that can pull off the whole classic Final Fantasy game type, and Bravely Default is sure one of them. To be honest, there isn't much I can say about the game without spoiling it for you, but if you like Final Fantasy, a game with a great story, and some pretty awesome turn based combat, Bravely Default is your game.

4. Mario Kart 8

For most people, you'd probably be lying to say you've never played at least one Mario Kart game, even it it was for a second. But for most people, you probably be also lying if you couldn't admit that these games are pretty fun. And with the new Kart addition of riding on walls, more items and new maps, this game became that much more fun. This game is awesome to play with friends or to go solo. And with DLC and some familiar Nintendo faces (*cough* Link *cough*) you never stop having a blast!

5. Titanfall

Where do I begin with Titanfall?
Titanfall just sounds awesome, even before you play it! You run around with some pretty sick weapons to start out, but the twist that makes Titanfall stand out from most FPS games is the Titan part.
Huge robots dropped from the sky (makes sense if you play the game) and land in front of you that you can go inside and fight in. It's pretty awesome. And even if your not in a Titan, some of the pilot abilities, like double jumping and cloaks, evens put the battle.
The down side is that you NEED Xbox Live Gold to play, otherwise this game deserves to be on this list.

6. Super Smash Brothers [Wii U]

Nintendo characters all face off in this all star battle royal! Choose between Mario, Link, Kirby all the way to R.O.B and Pac Man then fight to knock off your opponents and claim victory. Use not only your character but items to help fight and battle across various stages. With so many different modes like Classic and Smash Tour, this game will keep you busy for hours, even if you still aren't fed playing the regular Smash mode. With so many amiibos to fight with and new DLC on the way, this game is one of your top priority to pick up if you haven't already. Plus this game is so much fun with friends, and now you can have 7 more players fighting with you in 8 player smash! You'll be playing this game until the next one comes out, and I'm willing to bet on that too.

7. Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire

If the new Smash games haven't already given you childhood nostalgia from Meele, then this game will. Remakes of the older popular Pokemon games, Ruby and Sapphire, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire introduce the newest mechanics to the Pokemon universe through new items, Pokemon types, Mega Evolution and items while staying true to the original game and keeping it's same feel. Plus, if the newest graphics don't have you hooked already, Pokemon ORAS delivers a deeper look into how Ruby and Sapphire with Primal Kyogre and Primal Groundon and the Delta episode.

Honorable mentions:

Civilzation: Beyond Earth
Destiny
Dragon Age: Inquisition
Shovel Knight
Super Smash Brothers 3DS
Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker
Fantasy Life
