This mainly goes for one game since in other games like MK7 it doesn't matter because each game has a timer to make sure who has the fastest times and whatever however it does affect battle mode where you can throw two red shells at an opponent without an item and it still won't hit. So aggravating I know. KIU is fine because there isn't any noticeable lag because usually everyone of the field moves slow. In Pokemon it doesn't matter because it doesn't effect the gameplay in any harmful matter. In Smash it greatly affects the gameplay negatively because it's a fighting game and one mistime can mean your death which is unfair to expert players and unfair to certain playable characters making them instantly unplayable or playable in a flash. Olimar is super useful in the sense he's slower however this affects all the characters. Because of lag inputs don't go through, you cannot recover, you cannot properly use the right air attacks or do anything right in that matter. That is truly what sucks about online play to certain people that are affected by it. ;-;
