I did the three heart thingy on windwaker HD, Zelda 1, a link to the past, a link between worlds, and ocarina of time its less challenging in the 2d zelda games i just dont know why, it was easy in windwaker but when i got to puppet ganon i struggled a lot >.< pretty hard challenge tho

Wind waker is probably one of the easiest games in the series imo. If you want to make puppet ganon a little easier, hookshot up to where the jars are when he goes into snake form (the 3rd one), then start sniping with the bow. It takes a little pratice, and you might want green poition or better with you, but it makes him trivial at that point.

I did it for Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask. It was not as hard as i thought it would be but when I tryed it on A Link between Worlds i died to many times to count it did not help it was hero mode so it was even harder but i managed to do it with a lot of sturggles.

Also I did it on Phantom Hourglass but that game is really easy in the combat sense but it has some really good puzzles. So the three heart run is easy because the bosses are not that challenging the hardest one being the last one and its only hard because the hourglass does not register all the time.

Anyone here beat any Zelda games only having the starting 3 hearts and no extras? If so what games did you do it on?

i did the 3 hearts challenge on a link between worlds hero mode its the most challenging challenge ever.

Well, I have actually never done this. I am much more the type to collect ALL the hearts rather than as few as possible, even for a challenge or something of that sort. Although, this does sound like quite a fun challenge. I might try this with Breath of the Wild someday...
