I'm going to get either pokemon x or y today, and i want to know which charizard would be better for the journey?

Statistically, Mega Charizard X is better, but I prefer Mega Charizard Y more.

It's a question of taste. I personally prefer Charizard X. But if he doesn't fit your choice, you can try trading with somebody who have a Charizardite Y.

I prefer Charizard Y, but whatever you like more is what you should get ;p

Actually statistically it's about the same. Charizard Y has the benefit of drought (see what I did there :p) which allows it to attack harder with its special attack moves like Flamethrower. With that said though, I prefer Charizard X

Charizard X is weak against dragon type moves as it is a dragon , and Charizard Y is not weak against dragon moves so if you chose Charizard Y it has high sp attack and can use e.g dragon pulse to kill charizard x in a one. Hit kill

Through my experience, a Mega Charizard Y is a big threat because of Drought. It's put in triple/double battle teams and a fire team can easily sweep your team. Mega Charizard Y becomes very strong with drought, 50% boost Stab and 50% boost weather. Mega Charizardite X however, is powerful himself and mega evolving into a dragon type can resist an unsuspecting opponents move. Then he can KO it the next turn.

I haven't used either but I would choose mega Charizard Y because of the pure power potential and the insta weather effects it puts up, powering up the entire team.

Charizard X could use Rock Slide and kill Charizard Y in one hit (because 4x weakness to rock). Furthermore, if the Charizard is already mega evolved into the X form, it won't take 50% HP damage from it...

Well the Charizard X that I had bought from Marc was swept by @Marc Charizard Y. But yeah I know that rock is charizard's weakness , you also can use stone edge instead of rock slide.

Well that's because @Marc knows how to use Charizard Y well probably. Both are relatively even and have an equal chance of completely killing the other (it's all a matter of speed). In any case, only problem with Stone Edge is that its accuracy is a lot less than Rock Slide's

Charizard X Shiny is pretty cool too in the sense that it's a Charizard with a blue/red color scheme similar to Salamence :p I do see why you like the Charizard Y shiny though

yeah, who wouldn't haha Not to mention it's a pretty cool connection given the fact that Mega Charizard X is part dragon type, so linking the shiny coloration to an existing dragon's color scheme only promotes it haha

To be honest , I actually prefer the original color than the shiny charizard x's color IMO normal colored pokemon are the best their colors are already good.

I think that with some pokemon you may feel differently. For example, SHINY GARCHOMP. I MEAN IT LOOKS SOOO DIFFERENT. (okay, legit one: Shiny Rayquaza?)

I was talking about Shiny Garchomp. Not Shiny Mega Garchomp. It was meant to be sarcasm referring to the fact that the two colorations look really similar to one another
